Even though I really did like all the songs that included him, Adam’s personality was so triggering and very frustrating to watch. I understand that people want him to be redeemed and some like him but I genuinely couldn’t actually bring myself to care about his death, I actually felt like it had to happen because he was just so blatantly awful and even though I tend to enjoy villains, this one hit home for me and I couldn’t care less about neither him nor Lute 🫥

As a past sx worker and someone recovering from abuse. I felt Angels story on a deep level and related very well to this song for just these reasons. Having this representation in media is important to start these conversations.

This song is illustration of the Angel's tragedy. The strong song and strong intonations, I hear the Angel's tears of fear and hopelessness at the end of this song.

This is not glorification. People who have lived abuse can see the truth of it. How trapped he is, his disassociating, his escapism, his fear, and hearing those cracks in his voice towards the end when you can tell he’s not just Angel, but he’s Anthony, and he’s feeling at the end of his rope with no escape.

Honestly, this is one of the best representations of depression I have ever seen. In the context of someone who desperately doesn't want to let anyone else know how much pain they are in. It really hits close to home.

Oh, analytical Therapist actually give me anxiety. I feel like they judge me all the time (because I'm calm and judgemental myself -- something i want to work on). It's really great how there are different therapists for everyone.

And this is why I don't like Alastor. In terms of character development he is a FABULOUS and interesting gent. But he reminds me so much of my abusive ex. All the tactics of manipulation he uses are so similar. My ex kept me around because I was an interesting sexual experience because I'm a different race from him. In public he love bombed and acted glib and playful. But I saw behind his mask when he knew he had control over me. I took me matching his violence for him to leave me alone but I honestly can't take too much credit as I think he just got bored of me. Or at least I wasn't worth the energy. My parents are generally better behaved with my spouse around, but there may be one day that they have dementia or Alzheimer's. In that case, I still want to make sure they're OK. If one or both of them have resorted to violence in the past, then is it better I pay for a professional to help them than to take them into my home? I'm especially worried for my spouse and dog, because one of them abused our dogs and cats, and I don't expect him to pull punches if my spouse were to step in on our pet's or my behalf. I want to give them the opportunity to prove my worries wrong and that they've changed, except I don't want to do any harm either and I just might react violently if he did harm those now closest to me.

Seeing people say that ‘Poison’ and ‘Loser, Baby’ are songs supporting abuse really shocked me. I studied art and a big part of that was digging for deeper meanings ,in even the smallest details, but you don’t need to do that at all with these songs. They straight up tell you what they want you to know. It’s not glorified at all.
