Hmm I might slightly disagree with your take on BTS. Kpop's western influence doesn't begin or end with the use of english. Hear me out. Aren't rap, EDM, street wear used in Kpop in a way western influences? BTS' songs have never sounded like Kpop to me in terms of production anyway. Their earlier albums are very true to Hip Hop, they leaned a little more EDM and pop during Love youself, BE leans a little more pop than all of their albums, that's all. Funny, I was going to say Butter is the only song that stands out as not sounding like a BTS song. Both Dynamite (my fave english release of theirs) and Permission to Dance (bit too corny for my taste) both stick to their message of trying to uplift the mood during the pandemic and fits the overall narrative of the BE album (an album that captures their life/ emotions during the pandemic). If anything BTS has represented Korean culture in their work more than most; they use korean instruments, and have charted songs on Hot100 that were in Korean, in the same year as their english releases. If you think it is because they promote too much in the west? US and Japan are the biggests music markets, why would they sit those out; they continue doing Korean music shows and promotions. About the contract? I think there might be some misundestanding there, RM talked about being creatively frustrated, not with the team. You're doing great, keep going! 💜

I appreciate your take on the solos. It felt genuine. While I'm not a fan of Blackpink's music, I will say those comments about Jisoo were unwarranted. I've been seeing a lot of "everything wrong with..." or "...is terrible" videos drop almost immediately after releases nowadays. While I accept that tastes may vary, a lot of the "critique" is rather superficial and disingenious with the sigular purpose of provoking their viewers. They are often negative with not one single good thing to say about the production, lyrics, outfit, nothing when in reality very few songs fall flat on all aspects. These videos are also often about popular groups. Overzealous haters and stans/shooters for the groups (in a naive effort to defend their faves) will view these videos and fight, often crassly, in the comment section. Although tempting, I think we shouldn't give them the free attention because it is just bad content. To your channel, I will come back!

I’m not an Army, and I tend to mostly listen to girl groups in general, but I am officially a fan of Jimin after hearing “Like Crazy” which is probably my favorite song this year. The music, the lyrics, the dancing… sublime! ✨ I remember thinking WOW he is serving us sexy grown pop music à la PRINCE and I had no idea that the same Jimin from my fave part in “Dynamite” was the same guy! Im a Blink and a Jisoo stan and I love “Flower”🌺 (btw Jisoo is Lead Vocals not main, that’s Rosie!) I wanted a ballad (and a mini album lol) but I enjoyed both of the songs of her solo. I don’t know if she or the rest of the girls will renew their contracts, so honestly I was happy that we at least got to see her do her thing✨ and omgggg the visuals!! The MV, the promos, the Coachella solo stages 😍 I was the random person on twitter sharing both Jisoo & Jimin solo tweets, and seeing how rabid some people got over an idol they do not like was so weird lol these toxic kpop stans love drama, so they’re pretty easy to ignore because they have nothing better to do with their lives lol

The discourse about BTS being western pleasers is so so dumb in my opinion. First of all, they never said they would never release songs in english, the question was if they were ever going to release a whole album in english. It’s very different… It’s also insane to call them that when other Kpop groups release albums nearly full english. People also seem to forget we had albums between dyna & butter. Like, BE is right there… The renewal of their contract is not forced at all. Just reading their interviews or watching their lives on weverse (especially jungkook), you’d know this is a false assumption. I think the reason many people feel this way (non-armys in particular) is because they don’t want(?) BTS to stay as a group. It feels foreign to see a group like them staying successful for years long. I mean, for a lot, military enlistment means the end of a boy group + we are entering the 5th generation. And today, I know more and more people think that because they are releasing solo projects (they’ve been doing this for years lmao but yk).

Yeah, Sehun couldnt be a soloist, but he has purpose on exo as visual, but yeah he is the weakest in singing and rapping. EXO some members help in lyrics and production in their solos(Chanyeol, Lay, Suho) but the group's music barely was touched, only EXO 2014 song was produced by them :(. Its sad but I think it aint the company fault, bc NCT, Aespa, Shinee, I guess Red Velvet Wendy, Taeyeon tried and participated in lyrics, choreography or production.

I kinda agree with the SVT opinion. From 3rd gen bgs, I mainly ultimate nct and svt(exo is inactive so...there isnt much beyond solo now). Nct 127 is slowing down due incoming enlistment, and nctzens complain like usual, even tho NCT still does things beyond cbs. But Seventeen is given almost 2 or 3 kr cbs and 2 jp cbs + solos + osts per year, they are working almost in TWICE pace lmao. I know it sounds ungrateful to complain about pledis/hybe promoting SVT, but i wish they were smarter in the schedules and comebacks. And I wish SVT toured in LATAM....hello hybe, BTS even toured here, why SVT and other hybe artists never toured in south america????

My personal opinion about BTS: The audience makes me laugh sometimes because when BTS used to make Korean songs, we the ARMY wanted to have some English songs, yeah I know they're producing a little too much of western music but that's what it is, like look at the bigger picture "the larger the audience, the more the profit". However it's not like they are making all of the English songs boring. You can't have on wanting vice versa at the same time, we have to encourage all the experiments they make as that's how the audience grows. 💁‍♀️

I am an army and a multi and I have been here a long time, I don't like the style of jimin latest album because it not my cup most of time(and I don't think I have bad taste because I didn't like set me free pt.2) but people shitting on him are just pathetic like come one, first of all the autotune is something that most hybe groups have done from seventeen to enhypen so why is it a problem now and second of all jimin iis voice is very small and fragile so it's not meant for live preformances alot of the time so I am dissapointed in people hating on his specially my fellow onces. as for jisoo I really like flower best it's my type of song.

Jimin solo is a bop and a lit. Theres more dynamics and variety, given the dancing is always ecstatic. Jimin amongst all the members the most awaited coz he doesnt have any solo of on his own. Jimin did all this without collab, on his own craft. He was sabotage that no one expected the greatness of the song, in fact all of the song in the album. Jimin autotuning is purposely added to create dynamics of the music. Not all voice fits autotune, because his voice is unique, it was perfectly styled… he is a multitalented person.

Wonderland isn't Ateez debut song. It's there 3rd comeback. Pirate king and Treasure is their debut. You tier placement and reason we're really good. I was surprised when he placed Ateez has causal listener even though you kept saying you don't like noise music. I love that you appreciate they're b-sides. Jimin's vocal tone is so unique he can do incredible things if he gets the right songs to sing. He did not need auto tune in Set Me Free but it was still good! Because he's such a versatile performer, I think he could have a great hit singing some of Prince's unreleased stuff or even covering songs like Kiss. His voice is high and light but he can growl too....so songs like MJ type,, Janet Jackson type and Prince would suit him well.. He has what it takes to be a star so America needs to relax and stop being so resistant to music from him and his members.
