"Aggressive drivers"? compared to where? This guy hasn't been in any big city recently. Certainly not Boston, NY, DC, LA, or anywhere within 150 miles of Miami. Actually, I think the drivers in Kansas could stand a tutorial or two on safe driving habits. And don't get me started on Dallas! But all in all, this is a good take on chicago. Take an cab or a Lyft, don't drive. You'll regret it. Best advise of all: "Don't put ketchup on your hot dog" People think you're a hick, or worse, from New York

There’s a ski lodge in Killington,VT I stay when skiing Killington. I stay in a dorm in basement. It is a good option when by myself but if you want a private room with private bath, it is as expensive as nicer hotels. All I need is a bed. I’m there to ski.

When I was growing up it was "You-uns." How did you miss this no-no, no matter what it says on the top... it's the U.S. Steel building. I grew up in Moon Township on Rouser Rd. across from the old airport, and left in '73, but even I know that. Another thing is to rely on landmarks NOT your sense of direction. Pittsburgh is a TRIANGLE with many streets that are normal right-angle intersections, but many more aren't and those are usually what you hit just as you're not sure where you are. You may think you're turning east from the street you're on when actually you're turning northeast or southeast. Lastly, (and most important) if you're driving in from another state, fill your tank before you enter Pennsylvania-it has the third highest gas tax per gallon in the country.

Looks like a dive. Flying in this summer, but will be exiting the city before my rental car is stolen. North coast or central Cali sounds much better. Scared by a population that voted for Gavin Newsom. Yeah... best avoid those people...

As a fellow british person, we have a "stiff upper lip." Politeness is everything. We don't like to make a fool of ourselves in public, so if you're behaving strangely, we'll make sure to avoid you. We like personal space and being left alone when doing solo things like food shopping or browsing. Don't disturb a british person unless you're in real trouble.

Be aware that the 3 day ticket (72 Stunden Wien) for Vienna's public transportation is exactly the same price as a ticket valid for 7 days (7 Tage Wien). Both are 17.10 EUR.

Having used a rental car in Ireland and Northern Ireland on many occasions, we have had mixed experiences with rental agencies. One insisted that we had to have a letter, no more than 3 months old, from our credit card company stating that the insurance they provide is relevant in Ireland. Other companies didn't seem to care. Our best rental was when we were told not to worry about scratches low down on the passenger side of the car, as scraping along the hedgerows was just accepted as normal wear.

Some British people might say Tea, others would call it Dinner. Sometimes it depends on which region you're in. Confusing I know. We also say ketchup. Constable is very formal and kind of outdated, policeman/woman or officer is more common. Casualty is also called A&E. And a lot of Americanisms have made it in to British culture so they are probably understood.

As an Austrian, let me tell you that the Legend behind the creation of the Cake ist most important than the Taste: "According to Franz Sacher's son Eduard, Sachertorte was invented by Sacher when he was an apprentice under Metternich's chef Chambellier. The story goes that Sacher was required to create a novel cake when the chef was ill.[7] The Metternich connection was probably invented by Eduard many years later, to appeal to "Viennese nostalgia for their imperial past".[5][8] Sachertorte remains popular in Austria and worldwide." This Cake had such an Impact, that Franz Sacher was able to build a Hotel behind the Opera, that belongs to the leading Hotels of the World and hosted Royals & Presidents from all over the World. The Austrian style of "from rags to riches

Here's a little fact about the beerglasses if you do want to collect them as souvenirs. Ask around for thrift stores in the area. Many places have a kringwinkel or ecoshop where you can find these beerglasses super cheap. There's also second-hand fairs and garage sales where you can find them.

The rain percentage is for coverage of area, not likelihood or chance of it raining at all. If it says rain, it will. Where you're standing matters and you might not be in the path of a raincloud. The uk's high humidity affects temperature, it makes the cold feel colder and the hot feel hotter. Be prepared to layer clothing, either going on or coming off. (Seasonal differences)

A few things.. Americans pronouncing words differently. garage etc. US visitors shouldn't be expected to change since you're only visiting for a short time. Its just some British people are being pedantic and we probably wouldn't change on holiday (vacation) in the USA. Making tea, not like someone from abroad who's never really done it before would know.

At some point, you have to admit to yourself that you ARE in fact a tourist. XD It's definitely a lot of fun to see the "real life" parts of a place you're visiting and see a little bit of how people actually live there. But tourist traps are a tourist draw for a reason. If you don't live somewhere and see a thing every day, it really is nice to see those historic, iconic things at least once. I've never regretted going to see a big famous thing when I've visited another place, but I HAVE regretted not doing it when I had the chance. Like you say, it doesn't have to be the one thing you do somewhere, and it doesn't have to take a lot of time, but a lot of the famous tourist traps are worth experiencing at least once, in my experience. Some of them are even wonderful. For instance, so much of Venice is just overrun by tourism at this point, and yet it still retains quite a bit of its magic. Some places and things are revered for a reason.

While the fast TGV-trains definately can bring you to lots of sights in France, it also really depends on where you go and what you're gonna do and see. France is still a massive country and especially in the much more hillier southern parts of France you miss out on great, great nature if you plan to use trains/TGV only. I'd suggest to any American to plan carefully and consider doing both: train tickets + car rental. Say, travel to Avignon by TGV and rent a car to visit the gorgeous villages east of the city. Provence is awesome. Or: take the TGV to Bordeaux in the south west and get a car to visit the Dordogne-valley to the east. You will need a car to see the small fantastic villages and the many medieval castles. Also a thing to consider is that train travelling in France can get quite pricey easily. Compared to other countries in Western Europe I'd say French trains are on the expensive side, especially the TGV's.

Brilliant video. Glad you enjoyed your time in the North West. A lot of what you said could just as easily be aimed at Brits going to a different part of the country. One thing I would mention is that most, if not all, towns and cities have Tourist Information Centres which will give you a lot of local information.
