i had to put my hedgehog down less than a month ago and my parents decided to get me another one and she is a year old and never got adopted so even though i am familiar with everything in this video i am watching a ton of videos cause i cant help but feel i did not do good enough with my first little spikey child and i want to do even better this time around

Excellent Video, However I would suggest one edit. I make this for my bearded dragon, and I don’t boil mine first. I cook them straight away. Cause boiling actually takes out a lot of the calcium. But another alternative is to boil your eggshells, then pour that water into their water dish after it has cooled down. That way they drink the extra calcium from the water, and absorb it through their scales when they bathe. But you want to make sure they get as much calcium in their system as possible so they don’t develop metabolic bone disease. Also adding crab or lobster shells would be a great idea too. By the way, good job great job do you have to have corals or like corals for a 20 gallon saltwater tank because I myself shut up a 10 gallon saltwater tank and I don't have any corals at all But I am setting up another saltwater tank but it's gonna be a 20 gallon your fish look great they're thriving I love clown fish. I've never had them before but I've had exotic saltwater fish. I've had two peacock manta shrimps salt, but they both died. Unfortunately now I'm waiting for a word to get a zebra mantis shrimp myself

I don't like cages. I prefer big enclosures. You can easily create a big enclosure with a fence and a non slippery PVC floor, which is easy to clean. You can add natural wood, straw , hay, houses etc....

I was told that water bottles are not good for hedgehogs. They can break their teeth on them. Now, I use a low wattage snake pad for my heat. That's what the petstore recommended. 🦔🐾

walmart is selling their $3 fleece blankets at the moment! i stocked up on a couple for my boy

what size placement blankets or fleece did you use

Would it be ok to put a heating pad underneath instead? Also does it keep it ventilated enough without a lid? We are currently struggling with moisture

Also the foam is cooked leftover membrane/ egg whites.

After you boil the eggs ( to get rid of the smell) make sure to take off the inner membrane before baking and grinding it down. It removes the smell of the membrane and you’re left with only shell that has only the scent of calcium.

Is there a way to make a safe lid for this cage?

Just got mine a few months ago- the Best trick for smell and cleanliness- I swapped all my bedding out with bedpads!!!!! I put the fleece underneath so she can still borrow under if she likes. It is SO Easy to clean!!!!! Just wake up throw it all away and set up another bed pad!!! So Easy and never smells!

Good grief with the germ phobia already. I've been raw feeding for 21 years, I've been vegan personally for 35 years, and I do not engage in these ridiculous sanitation rituals like using toxic sanitizers, washing my hands when they're not visibly dirty, etc. Please, people, start thinking critically about these ideas. The boogiemen microorganisms that are found when dogs or humans are sick did not BRING the sickness. As long as your attention can be directed to that guilty little microscopic vermin, you're dependent on the medical industry to kill it, neutralize it, and "immunize" you against it. Find the real causes of your sickness (mostly what you EAT), and be empowered. It does not matter what all of humanity thinks. The truth exists independently of human 'consensus'.

Buying a hedgehog will only increase animals legal and illegal trade, causing them great stress and sufferings, where they will be at worse bought by careless people who will grow tired of them a few weeks later or who will not take care of them as they should, at best by people who will take good care of them, but contribute to the big scale suffering. They are wild animals and need to live free. Because of these videos, people are also trapping them in the forrest and taking them home, no matter if is it a mum whose babies are waiting for her to feed them. Man already has tamed many animals, now millions of them are mistreated, bought and then abandoned. Do we really need to always find other animals to torment? You probably mean right but you are not helping. If you agree with me, pass on the message, and go take care of a poor creature waiting to be rescued in an animal center.
