Funny thing is most people don't realize we're going extinct as humans as well. You just have to see the declining birth rates in over 100 countries and the rapidly aging population in those countries. I guess that's why they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, medical advances in technology increase our life spans but it chokes out the future generations because as more people reach senior ages, they tend to vote more and will vote for things that benefit them and if their demographic keeps growing while others one shrink then what do you think happens? Also if you look at social security it basically takes 3 workers to provide social security benefits to one senior citizen, but if there is less youth working what happens? You'll have people that need to work longer and longer while you delay benefits or reduce the amount of benefits that people are receiving. Eventually it'll hit a critical point where it can no longer sustain itself.
