K.I.T.T. coincidentally happens to be Knight Industries Two Thousand built into the Knight Two Thousand. In "Knight Rider 2000," K.I.T.T. says he was originally designed with Series 2000 circuitry which is probably really what he's named after. K.A.R.R. is built into the prototype Knight Two Thousand but of course he's still referred to by his A.I. which is of course K.A.R.R.

That's interesting because before the re-runs in the 90s when I could replay scenes, I thought they may have used some type of periscope. It seemed like the best method to me, short of a remote controlled car. Now I see they did use that method

I invented those spikes that came out of KITT 's tyres when i was 13. There was a competition in the U K asking for fand to design a new feature for KITT. I didn't win but a boy won with the exact same invention.

Always interesting to see how filming locations look like nowadays, about 40 or 50 years after shooting. Especially if they are from those great tv-shows from our childhood and teenage years back in the late 70s and 80s. So keep up this great work, and looking forward to see more filming locations.

I totally agrre with @richgross144 @ reemkoG - and at the end if someone want to get in there, even 2 latches won´t hold them back - but at the end you will also loose the door... I would keep it original - if it floops then add some magnets..

I believe that the place had already been identified and marked by historians of The Dukes of Hazzard, as it is also the location of GL jumps.

Not saying you're wrong. The old tree next to the ravine is pretty convincing. However the hills in that spot don't look as accurate as the Lang ranch park location. So Im stll not completely convinced the Lang ranch park location isn't the real site of the jump, and that portion of the ravine is sadly filled in at the park. Wish I lived close enough to do some further investigation.

I been to this Universal theme park or Universal studios back in the 80's . To see KITT knight rider and I thought it was the coolest thing ever! In a way I felt like a piece of history myself, probably because I got to see it. It was a real privilege to talk to the famous iconic car! Makes me miss the 80's! I remember talking to KITT and asking him how deep the water was next to the car and he told me it was not very deep. I guess I feared the little pond back then. I wish they could bring it back somehow. I'd like to see Airwolf too and have a picture of it also! I want to be in the cockpit awe man I love what the 80's brought to the general public. Anyway its all good!😅

Well I can tell you that it wasn't very deep but it was sure slick and hard to negotiate I had to move very slowly to keep from falling down in he cold water ,Plus i always wore waders just in case Since you asked there are ,many pictures and videos of Airwolf online Sorry to tell you that the" The Lady" was destroyed in a Crash in Germany back in the Early 90's While in service as an Air Ambulance when it was sold after the series was cancelled after delivering a Burn Victim to Berlin Hospital ( TALK ABOUT NO GOOD DEED EVER GOES UNPUNISHED ) And the Santini Air Chopper was sold to the LA Police and is now a Police Chopper or at leas it was I don't know if its stilll flying or not Later Stay Safe Jake

As an 8 year old, the miniatures fooled me, but watching the series again a couple years ago I was disappointed when I noticed how obvious the miniatures were. The depth of field blur looks different on miniatures than on full size objects. That being said, I'd give my left arm if I could go back in time and work on the miniatures myself :)

But do remains of the bulldozed path exist?
@thomasseifert910
@thomasseifert910 3 дні тому
sorry, but not conviced. If you try to replicate the camera angle, the hills in the background don't line up. Also, the terrain left of the tree is rising, while in the scene it's way more flat and there's more space for KITT to land, while if the spot is where you're claiming, KITT would have nose dived right into that hill. There's zero space for the landing. Also, the terrain on the other side of the ravine is sloping. The background seen from the neighborhood park is a 100% match and if you look at historic aerials, you can see that the ravine continued (and still does) behind the park in 1980/85. The tree bears a striking resemblance but to me this clearly isn't the spot. When KITT lands, you can actually see two paths, one right at the foot of the hill and one closer to KITT. These two lines are visible on historicaerials where the park is today. By carefully studying the aerials, I think I can pinpoint exactly where this was filmed, namely on the east end of the neighborhood park. You can even faintly make out the 'road' that was bulldozed for the filming in the 1985 aerial.

Put it this way if you're gonna have something in the belly boxes that is really important to the trailer or for the semi tractor, then maybe you should add the other 3 locks. If the stuff you put in, there is not so important to it, then maybe not. It all depends on what you put in the belly boxes. I would say put the extra 3 locks in for extra security. But you don't always have to lock those extra 3 locks. It's gonna be painted black. You're not really going to see them anyway. Unless you're standing very, very close to it. And you know that they're not supposed to be there.

If you want to recreate the office and working space 'set' in the trailer, do you really need a 1980s pully system ? You could redesign the pulley to go from the sides then back on itself under the chassis and have the motor fitted where it cant be seen. Not original but neither was the set originally inside the the trailer either. 👍

Buddy of mine in the 80s had a Firebird in dark blue metallic that had been in an accident. He and his dad ran a body shop and they fixed the car, put that awesome finish on it, and added a low air scoop offset to one side of the hood to make the car distinctive. It wasn't a Trans Am but it often got mistaken for one, and off course KITT was one of its nicknames. The Firebird of that era was really cool-looking, but of course it came with all the usual GM rattles and squeaks of its day. But that particular example had had a lot of love put into it.
