Track 3 has a coda that samples Camille Saint-Saens "Aquarium" also found in Manlio Mazza's 'assembled' soundtrack (at about 1:04 in the film) for the 1914 Pastrone film, Cabiria (not the later "Nights of Cabiria" by Fellini)

Track 8 "zurkiiro no kaori" at 30:47 features samples from the track Sometime Ago / La Fiesta from Chick Corea's Return to forever album from 1972, Which is another masterpiece of an album if anyone is interested and happens to be my favorite album. And I was pleasantly surprised to hear hints of that here. Susumu Yokota had great taste! :)

My dad gave me cassette a tape with this on it when i was around 20. I played it at a party on a loop on my first trip amd it changed everything. It was only years later when i found out it was susumu yokota. I then found a copy of the CD and the other Ebii album, Zen, on vinyl. as others have said, on a par with Aphex SAW/SAW2. Is a beaufitful coincidence, i had been saving the Zen vinyl for a first listen, on moving into a new apartment, after a divorce.. and thats the same day I heard SY died. I took it as a sign to strive forward. Peace n Love+

i believe many of the vocal samples in mushroom girl are from the czech film DAISIES (1966), i been listening to this album for years and watched that movie the other day and was like 'i sweaarr ive heard these sounds somewhere before! "''

First time I listened to this album, it was at work back in September 2017 in South Africa. I remember leaving for a trip with my partner through Northern-Cape on the Friday of this same week... It's far away now but it's crystallised : driving late, the sunset painting the mountains from orange, purple, blue shades ... Alone and peacefull... These first songs "Saku" and "Tobiume" remember these landscapes.

That last song is so beautiful....

One his most ignored releases, and also one of his best. There's no bad tracks on this release. This one is pretty different from his other albums, and it's that makes it better (he also has other great albums), it sounds more "serene" and "calm" and less "bright" or "cinematic"; I love listening to it on rainy days.
