It is obvious that California needs to begin harvesting water and restoring groundwater, and not simply depending upon large reservoirs to satisfy the needs of the people. California COULD spend billions of dollars building new dams that create environmental damage and cost millions of dollars annually to maintain, or California could create hundreds of square miles of wetland that will restore groundwater and create fabulous habitat for birds, fish, frogs, turtles, and gazillions of other critters by reestablishing beaver populations around the state, even in desert areas. Beaver once populated nearly every river and tributary in the state, and there were thousands of square miles in beaver-made wetlands. No beavers... no wetlands. It really is that simple. Farmers should be paid to protect beavers and to create wetlands on their property. Ranchers should be REQUIRED to keep cattle and livestock away from streams. This is a problem that must be resolved, or millions will suffer. Water is life. We can't live without it. Bring back the beavers and restore our wetlands.

Russia and China have been at odds with each other for a very long time, this is nothing new. I always knew that when China had gleaned as much military technology as they could from Russia, China would throw Russia under the bus, Russia is a minor trading partner as well, so whatever money would be lost by not trading with them will be minor. I always thought that Russia and China would team up to defeat the USA, and then China would throw Russia under the bus, now it's not looking that way, Russia is getting weaker with every passing day in the Ukraine, and China is concerned that Russia would be of no help to them against us. That might be a good thing because China might not want to go up against us alone, "might not", are the keywords there. Time will tell how all of this plays out. China could fairly easily defeat Russia, and invade their country taking it over completely to get their natural resources, but when a ground force as large as China's would invade another country like Russia, they would fold fast. Such a war could take about 2 years assuming no nukes are thrown, but Russia in desperation would definitely start using nukes to stop the invasion, and then of course China would be forced to use nukes. The question then becomes, does the US and NATO try to help Russia? That would be quite the twist in world politics!

California is 100% run by Democrats, and as a result, they have rampant homelessness, unmitigated public use of hard drugs, filthy needle and feces-lined streets, public schools that want to allow children to get permanent mutilation surgeries without their parents' knowledge and with their teachers' help, AND some of the highest taxes and living costs around (because you gotta pay for the privilege of living in their s-hole). People are fed up. I'm just saying what everyone already knows who's paying even a little attention to politics. Besides the obvious political motivation, you're right on the money about cost of living. My husband and I moved to TX last year from Washington State, and bought our first house in our 20s within 8 months of moving here. Washington has comparable cost of living to CA (even slightly lower!), and we couldn't have afforded even a run-down mobile home there for years to come. The ~2,400 sq ft house we could get here in TX would be a million dollars EASILY in WA or CA. It's insane. The only way _to_ afford a home in your 20s is to move to a non-Democrat-run state at this point.
