I feel like I would never know I had these kits if I bought them, so I just won’t. If there was a CAS kit I would probably buy it

I can’t say I am impressed but also not surprised. I would really like some more useful kits. I guess if you want a pool float but can’t afford Island living the first one can serve a purpose but the kits could be so much more creative. Neither of these have a strong enough concept for me.

The second kit isn't THAT far away from the better types of concepts for kits. It's highly thematic, which is what I want for these tiny bits of content. I don't want another bland kitchen or something. The idea of creating a classic French café (but having assets that can work in a restaurant, a dining room, etc.) is much more interesting than "well, you guys wanted bathing suits, so we threw together a few weirdly shaped designs". To me it feels cohesive, specific, and versatile at the same time. If I bought kits, I'd be game for that. Would I want them to push the envelope even further ? Of course ! But I have more issues with the "bunch of pool-adjacent stuff" kit.

For me, the pool kit is kind of a bummer cause we got poolside slapsh kit and not a build mode pool kit so it probably means we won't get a pool activities stuff pack or something like that.

I do t hate the kits they seem fine but i absolutely would have preferred a pack that focused on pool fun like games snd slides or even s floating bar

I like the dining room aesthetically as I actually have cc that looks like it (funny enough I am currently building a fake restaurant in my game with that particular aesthetic). I'm making my restaurants somewhat functional thanks to mods and lots of imagination. If I didn't, I would be very tempted to buy Dine Out though it is a broken pack or Get Together (that I already have). Right now the café kit feels like an incentive to buy Get Together or Dine Out. The Pool Kit seems to be an answer to the disappointment of the poolside splash kit but honestly, those two pool themed kits should not have existed and a game pack with new animations should have been added... At this point I wonder if they strill have people to create new animations for them...

When I see this I think who the heck is buying these kits for real? and cc creators do way better in the stuff they put out than whatever EA is doing. It’s all garbage. I’d rather use cc than that basic stuff 🙄 if modders and cc creators didn’t exist, I wouldn’t play the Sims.

Wow, and this is why I am sad and kind of in my own lull with the game as someone who went from buying everything immediately to someone now who hasn't purchased anything at all since the Fall of 2023. Every time I open my game and try I just don't have that same sense of excitement I once did, I may build a little but I never finish anything anymore because it just doesn't feel the same anymore and there's so many glitches even now in build mode and some that haven't been fixed in years like terrain paint... Neither of these leaked kits is ground-breaking let alone imo worth it. Most of this is stuff we have already in game just maybe in different swatches, but we do have most of these items in a form currently. I really hope this turns out to be fake leaks because if this really is supposed to be the beginning part of these new releases/content for Sims 4 I would say the creativity and burnout of the Sims team is now showing and it IS now just a money grab. Like you said where's the pool slides? where's the pool stairs? Rocks stairs for pools verse actual rocks? A hammock, pool toys I mean I can think of a lot of other items we do not have yet in game! The only newer pack I am semi interested in is the crystal one because I like crystals IRL. As a builder, the For Rent EP piques my curiosity due to the ability to make actual apartments but no one seems to care to actually fix that pack so I am holding out for half off at minimal to purchase that. And they tend to release EPs with mechanics they can use for another alteration... I would assume hotels would be able to use a similar system but since they can't be bothered to fix the actual mechanism it's killing the hopeful for hotels vibe all together. It's just broken, upon broken, upon broken at this point. I was really hoping maybe like everything in life the game just hit a lull, a rough patch, and would suddenly spring back to life. That EA would realize their mistakes, especially for it being such a popular game and give it the resources it deserves and fix their game for all players and start coming out with some much better content and some newer things not seen yet. So far this year is quite boring and even trying to get excited about new content whether that be hotels, bands, etc. I just worry it will be disappointing and not meet expectations because it just feels like at this point we have to just settle for mediocre. I miss my game. I want to feel excited again about it and feel like us OG players also matter even if we are older and that the community as a whole is being heard. So many promised things still that never came to fruition as well, including better communication! This game could still be great with the right resources directed at it, bug fixes taking center stage, utilizing more cross pack compatibility, taking more risks in terms of giving us some more adventurous, different never seen before type packs exploring more cultures and little things like giving sims accents to change up voice options and even just unlocking waters in Granite Falls and Brindleton Bay and adding rock climbing into Granite Falls or even the hike together option that we already have in game now would make differences! Just seems like so much wasted potential.

Lets hope that the second kit is a sign that big fixes are coming for Dine Out. Edit: I actually really like both of those, I am a builder, though. Ill definitely be getting both if they are real.

Pool Basketball would be so cool. Great Wolf Lodge indoor waterpark has a pool with basketballs and goals to shoot them in. This would probably be easy for Maxis to intergrate since we already have basketball in the game.

There are cc pool slides and other pool items. Why cant maxis give us more pool items with gameplay?

One or two of those rocks look like the TS3 Pool Waterfalls.

We need more hobbies and more places to go to.

I'm curious to aee what the theme for the roadmap is as we will probably get an expansion either romance or resorts. I would prefer a pool or waterpark stuff pack, but its EA, so I'm not suprised!

To be honest I am very excited for for LBY and InZoi - the sims is killing me the most basic functions are failing in the core of the game

I like the idea of a pool kit but I think the pool and outdoor area needs its own big rework like a game pack or if we want to go full out there a expansion pack with new careers that relate to swimming, life guards and other things

When you said (and I may be slightly misquoting) "a pool ladder is a pool ladder" I was thinking "yes, a pool ladder IS a pool ladder - and who the hell gets excited by a new shiny pool ladder??". The lack of imagination is really... well, laughable. Sorry. A bit of a rant, but this does somewhat get my goat. Thanks as always for keeping us informed.

I kind of like the gazebo from the pool kit, but I'm also a pretty big sucker for a good gazebo. The rest seems a bit meh to me though. I want to like the dining room one, since I general prefer more traditional and antique-y styles, but it also doesn't really wow me. Honestly though, most kits don't really wow me. I feel like they're just to small with too little room to really do much to feel cohesive and like it actually is doing something. I would almost rather just have something like the sims 3 store, where I can buy a single individual piece that I like, than a bunch of things that i only kind feel meh about in addition to the one or two things I actually want.

Anyone who played Crusader Kings 3 will probably notice that character models in LBY look similar to CK3 especially early models. I mean it makes sense since both games are made by paradox (different studios i know but still), this kind of explains disproportions in body (upper body way smaller than lower)

If they're including a pool floatie with the pool kit, I think that is kind of nice. To the best of my knowledge, pool floaties only come with Island Living and For Rent - so at least players have an option to get pool floaties into their games without shelling out $40 for a (potentially broken/buggy) expansion pack. And if the dining room (cafe? bar? bistro?) kit does include actual booth seating, that would be nice - we haven't gotten any additional booth seating since Dine Out. I love to build in the game, so seeing these kits make me feel cautiously optimistic.

A pool cas kit and now a pool build kit?? I don't understand why they couldn't have just done a pool stuff pack which would have bb, cas and new pool gameplay which would be the same price as two kits.

Pool build kit adding in a pool ladder but not a pool slide nor a diving board!? I know Get Together came with a diving board but it's alright, there should be a diving board that is like ones from Sims1 and 2. Sims 4 really been failing us Simmers!

i also don't find these too exciting... while we're on kits: a few weeks back they announced that we would get that one kit for free (the plant one) but it wasnt at that point yet. does anyone know if that happened? i feel like i totally missed it (would never say no to free stuff lol)

So The sims team still haven´t learned how to avoid leaks. the good thing is that it looks like nothing that would cause buggs. but I don´t know if we realy need more poolstuff.

Don't they usually pair build kits with CAS kits for release? I don't really see anything I would regret not having, though they will probably both make it above the Party Essentials kit on my list, which means not dead bottom.

i think if they'd included a slide, it would be a new animation and considered a 'hero item' (as Carl calls them). Thus, it'd be a stuff pack and not a kit. I agree these are not exciting. I'm still hoping some dlc will be free soon. 🤞🏾

Both of these kits look boring to me as a builder. At least with the first several build/buy kits you could assemble a room/area with the items given, but these two new kits look like they were leftover ideas scraped together as an after thought, imo.

I think it's good because people who can't afford to purchase much content get new free updates without feeling much pain, subsidized by users that purchase those items. I see it as a very positive thing, actually. 🤔

Kits often relate to theme of the season, so is it possible we are getting a vacation type of pack?

Café and restaurant items are useless if Dine Out doesn't ever work.

The packs aren’t bad, they just look a bit generic. The pool kit isn’t exactly what I wanted with a pool pack, I’d prefer like you mentioned stuff for in the pool like slides or pool noodles.

I don't see any wow factor in either kit. The stuff is nice IMO but not really anything special - it's safe. Not that it needs to be special but beyond the specific themes, I don't see anything to pull others in if you don't want pool or vintage content. Also, another leak? Even though I believe it's deliberate marketing by EA, if it's not they are definitely not doing anything to stop these leaks. No company as big as them would allow this many, for this length of time and they certainly have the resources to put a stop to it.

As a builder these two packs are meh.

I have to say, these new items are defi itely underwhelming for me. So far, most of the Kits are not a Hoot. They're just Blah.

With the way Xbox is going, I don't think that this "kit" would be available for the Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S. Too many studio closures and the decline of the Xbox brand has put me in a not-so-good mood.
