So Basically the Clippers are screwed for the next 6 years/seasons until 2030. If they don't win a Championship while Kawhi Leonard is still on the team. And the Clippers are moving into a New Arena next season. Could you imagine if Kawhi is the only All-Star on the team next season. Paul George, James Harden and Russell Westbrook all walk in Free-Agency this Summer. That would be Crazy 😳.

I’ll tell you why. It’s because the NBA is the only league where they let the players play the role of GM. Look at Kawhi for instance. He tells the Clippers who he wants on the team, who to trade, etc. Lebron, KD, they all do it. Players recruit one another in the offseason and tell their respective teams who to sign and who to trade for. The NBA is notorious for it. It has gotten out of hand.

Those analytics guys focused on offense. They figured defense from a top team wasn’t that different from a bottom team. I’m the 90s you didn’t get one the floor if you couldn’t play defense. The ability to score certain ways however made a difference. So what did players do? They focused on what the geniuses were telling everyone and getting paid. Now, the reserve has happened. Everyone is a shooter in today’s league but the teams that play excellent defense are shining.

SGA will bring OKC a championship within the next 3-4 years and that could very well come right now with the way they're playing. Sam Presti, the GM for the Thunder, will go down in history for arguably the stupidest trade ever made in the NBA giving away Harden who was an MVP level player. That trade cost OKC a dynasty. They would have gone on to win multiple championships and the Warriors dynasty never would have happened. Outside of that debacle though has been absolutely excellent and looks like he will redeem himself.

The trade also brought a player that just won a ring, Kawhi to the Clippers still in his prime. Clippers also made it to the WCF for the first time led by PG. Shai/Thunder hasn’t got there yet. So I wouldn’t consider this trade as bad as KG/Truth/Terry going to the Nets bad..

the problem is the PG trade set themselves up for failure. No draft picks, and two stars who dont even fit with each other. One of them has injury history. How else could it end?
@stump4522
@stump4522 2 дні тому
The issue was PG has max contract and 2 more years in OKC. PG force his way out. Sam Presti ain't going let PG walk with out something in return. Shai will never be developed as he was today if he played with Kawhi. Look at the current Clippers youth member so many miss opportunities. Bottom line PG wasn't worth that much picks and he wasn't that guy. Even if they made to WCF.

That 2019 Thunder team actually had a lot of really good players on it. Not stars, but quality role players and young legs off the bench. I really respect Westbrook & his heart, I feel like Lakers Nation was unfair to him & it wasn’t the best spot. But man he put a really hard ceiling on a team that should’ve been much better. They lost PG, Westbrook, Jerami Grant, Markeiff Morris and only won 5 less games the next season with their 3 best players being point guards. They also won 2 more playoff games.
