Treasure Planet is my favorite movie. Never thought of looking at things like this. Ive watched it so many times, yet never understood the appeal of the whole animation. It is really an art, that takes so much into understanding its baffling. Thank you for the great breakdown and easy follow-up. And even animating in blender? This framework is looking neat!!

The quote at 8:49 really helped me understand why I love exploration so much. It truly is the only moments in which you can ascend the collective mind of society. I wonder if this somewhat factors into flow state? Perhaps mastering your skill set increases the rate of flow state due to reaching the point where you can no longer rely on others for learning. Instead you must utilize your own agency at its maximum and pave a new frontier. Maybe that could be the main factor in inducing flow state, and flow state is just a mode of total freedom.

I know your joking, but the most complex parts of hand becomes easy to draw if you keep them applying to basics simple shapes to advanced where you add details and the way marco bucci explains is the best for everyone to understand.

The eyes are sensitive differently to different colors. The eyes are most sensitive to green, then red, then blue. When converting from color to grayscale, different colors get different weightings. This is why this happens. It is not strange nor is it unexpected. It is intentional. The weightings are 0.7152 for green, 0.2126 for red, and 0.0722 for blue.

I'm only halfway through this tutorial and it's been two hours. That's a testament to your incredible teaching. I've been in such an art block, and I've had very little motivation to sit down and draw, especially not studies. I've paused and rewinded a lot so I can do and redo the studies. This video made me want to soak up every bit of advice and apply it to my art! Hands are a struggle for many artists, myself included, but this video breaks it down so that the viewer GETS IT, not just kind of learns how to draw it without understanding it. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!

Only 15 years ago guided instruction this in depth came from: 1. If you were lucky enough to find a DVD with instructions from an industry professional (99.9% of them were trash). Luckily I stumbled onto the Gnomon DVDs. It was $60 for one to three hours of instruction on a single subject (you can see how expensive that could get). 2. Go to one of three private art institutions and come out a quarter million in debt for four years of instruction... Yes, there were books on various subjects but it's like trying to learn baseball from text and still images. The only way it makes sense is if you already know how it physically works. I hope at least one young person out there is eating these lessons up knowing this wasn't normal not long ago.

The timing on this couldn't be more perfect. I literally saw Adventure Planet for the first time a few days ago (I've been watching a tonne of Disney to help myself learn about 2D animation), AND at the same time I realised I have a weakness in the area of gesture drawing and have been really struggling with how to do it properly. Thank you so much Marco, your stuff is amazing!
