Chrome was always shiny plastic. Range actually likely to be 200 miles. Boot is ok but won’t take shopping plus grandsons push chair. Good to see buttons though. But killer is the price. Way too expensive as always.

I'm not a fan of "preproduction " reviews as they seem pointless, can't even tell you the price and it will probably be a year or more before you can buy one. Do reviews the month before the car hits the showroom otherwise customers will be suffering from advertising fatigue before then. Ah Stellantis and their factory EV conversions, I'd much rather buy a dedicated ev built on an ev platform.

The Price that this car will be sold at is everything - It needs to be well below the KIA Niro and Renault Megane e-Tec. Personally, it will need to be below the much more interestingly looking Renault 5 which is about to hit the market. There is nothing interesting about this vehicle but that is ok, as long as it is reasonably priced. The electric Astra was ridiculously priced originally. I'm not sure how much it is selling for nowadays.

Highly competetive is such a bullshit price statement :D Other than that ... I'de love to buy something like this for 20k.

It’s a hoot. Engine noise, power & torque emulation of an ICE. Accelerate and the power builds. Off throttle and the ‘engine’ brakes. I test drove a lots of EV’s and this was stand out the best. Switch off the sound and the car miraculously transforms into a rather sedate feeling suv. What’s not to like?

I think we need a realistic range measurement. In a lot of the reviews Ive seen, the difference between WLTP and real world range are 20% or more different (and not in a good way). Having a limited charging rate isnt helping (although I guess its keeping costs down). As for the Frontera, aside from the downsides Jack has noted, looks like a sensible car aimed at sensible people. I applaud the use of real buttons. Use muscle memory to switch them instead of taking your eyes off the road to fiddle with menus with touchy areas that are not quite large enough to hit the first time.. (thats why having your co-pilot able to see the screen helps if you dont have the buttons).

It's more complex than that. We've owned an e-Niro from new since 2019 here in France. The car is now on 101,000 km so we have some experience with it. In summer driving around rural Poitou-Charente the car comfortably exceeds the WLTP quoted range for the car. In winter on the autoroute you're right, subtract 20%. In between those extremes the WLTP range (455 km) is spot on in our experience.

Vauxhall a car that's fundamentally a brand only sold in the UK, why did they decide to use a left-hand drive example when promoting this new model. You would have thought a motor manufacturer that purports to pay so much attention to small details they could have at least used a right and version. Just saying

Agree, lots of current car tv adverts show lhd cars- even think they arent even filmed in the uk plus they have the audacity to print on screen " not to uk spec or model not available in uk " - so i would not purchase from that manufacturer on principle if they take this lazy attitude towards impressing the uk public with some of their models/specs that we cannot even buy as if oh well its only the uk they wont mind that they just a downrated specification from other markets!

Vauxhall's just don't fill you with joy, do they... They're dull! The previous Frontera was an absolute DOG, hopefully, this will be better... Why don't Vauxhall produce bespoke EV's rather than Petrol/Diesel/EV variants?

Ok. Let's be real now. The pace of new EVs is not acceptable any more. This is the same Citroën ëC3. We don't need another full press review for the same car in a new dress on Fully Charged unless there's definitely something worthwhile different about it.. And instead of the Citroën Oli, we got a not-small Indian market car that's pandering SUVism to a market best associated with micro mobility and motorbikes.

Screams vanilla at me inside and out, and not sure for the price it does stand up to competition, especially with more used EVs on the market at decent prices. It may serve to be a good all round option but it feels to me a bit underwhelming.

Looks super cheap and bland on he inside. Also way over priced. Can't beleive how dull and dated it looks sat in the studio with the bare red door pillars shining back at you. Not worth the money. New Citroen C3 looks better, and cheaper. Time for car companies to stop inflating EV prices if they really want to sell any?

Another semi-fugly robo-cop EV.... design language .... I'd say mixed-up style deficit. Outside,.. an excess of double convex fluted edges. Who needs all the crap featurette driving management electric gismos.. the UFO up-your-tailgate sensor.. Something else to go wrong. KISS. Ventilation controls... electronic no doubt...that's a dashboard removal when the motors go phut. As old mother car designer used to say, "What's wrong with ventilation sliders/rotators and direct mechanical links to the airway flaps... electric motors = battery drain, extra weight and decreased range. Just because you have an EV doesn't mean everything inside has to be electrically powered".
@puffti14

I don't know why everyone keeps saying that fuel powered cars are cheaper. I literally pay less in high inflation times for a new electric car, with more features and better insurance than my old used fuel powered car. I save every bill for my Seat Ibiza 2008. Every repair, maintenance, insurance, gas, and so on. Factored in the buy and sell price. And that little shit box was about 400€ per month while driving 30.000km a year. That was a used car and the only premium feature it got was a manual AC. Got a lease on a Seat Mii electric in 2020 for 220€. That includes insurance, cost of lease, service. It's a new car with almost every feature. Automatic AC, cruise control, App access, you name it. Driving it 30.000km a year as well and the total monthly cost due to inflation based raise on the lease and electricity to charge is ~280€ a month. Note that I have now premium insurance and not the simplest basic one like I had with the Ibiza. Edit: Battery is at ~94%, but I didn't care about charging it only to 80% or stuff like that. 100% all the time at over 100k km right now. And it was on 95% after ~50.000km, so it seems that it stagnates.
