Hey have you ever seen Brotherhood of the Wolf, it's a French film with a Monster, a Monster Hunter, Secret Government Spies, a Whore House, an Incest sub-plot ...oh and Martial Arts. I know none of that sounds like it should go together but it does. Back in the day France had a severe Wolf problem and this movie always makes me think of that. Anyway it's a movie I can't find a single review for which makes me think no one has seen it. You may like it, you may not but it's a crazy ride.

Oh man, your synopsis of "My Octopus Teacher" reminded me of the short time I was a volunteer diver at the local zoo many years ago. I was charged with feeding the Anemones, and doing light tank cleaning while I was in there. My recollection might not be super accurate after 20+ years, but this is as best as I remember it. In addition to the Anemones, there was a single eel in the tank. He had a reputation of being grumpy, as whenever a diver entered the tank, he would go hide in a crack between the rocks and the tank side, and not emerge until after the diver left. One day, instead of just dropping the fish pieces into the crack he was hiding in, I reached in and gave his tail a gentle shake and waited (the crack he hid in wasn't large enough for him to turn around, so his tail always stuck out). Then another little shake and wait. Surprisingly my ploy worked after a short while and he emerged from his hidey-hole! I removed his allotted 2 pieces of fish from my bag, showed them to him, and dropped them in front of his face without getting too close and scaring him. My next day to go in the tank comes around, and the same thing happened, though I did have to give his tail a shake 1 or 2 fewer times before he came out to be sociable. The third week in this narrative rolls around, and I start feeding the Anemones first, one by one, as usual. It should be noted here that perfume/cologne, deodorant, and I think even soaps are strongly discouraged in the wildlife tanks. The diver's weights even have to be sand and not lead. But somehow, the eel sensed it was me and this time emerged from his hiding place to swim between my legs as I was feeding the Anemone! Surprised and happy at this apparent show of affection, when it came time for the eel to be fed I took it one step further. Showing his fish piece to him, I dangled it between my fingertips and let him swim much closer before I dropped it, and he easily caught it before it dropped to the pea gravel (?) bottom. To my knowledge, I was the first and only diver he would come out and play with, and for the remainder of my time that I volunteered there (sadly only about another 4-6 weeks or so, before my "real" job had me too tired to continue volunteering at the zoo) he would play around between my feet as the Anemones were fed and when his turn came, come close to eating right from my hand! The main reason I never tried that last step was that I wasn't sure how good his eyesight was and eels have some pretty sharp teeth! I didn't want to get bitten by accident. That was a pretty special thing though, enough so that you made me remember it over 20 years later.

Yes its great. Lots of tech innovation, the pencil shader which gives it that cartoon feel uses a new technique which generates the traditional black line to the colour of the connecting surface works a treat. The motion of the bots who split and teleport broke their whole rendering system for a bit too. Technical innovation, artistic style, great acting and an engaging story = perfect.

Army of the Dead was like "How many throwbacks to classic movies can you catch?". I feel like he took every zombie movie to the original Aliens franchise and put all his fav's in a jar and reached in and pulled out strips and laid them out and said "we'll make a movie this way" so it's filled with so many classic throwbacks and I could barely spot them all. Even if I do not reach my goal on the self-care and house chores, I still reward myself with a movie for making a good effort. So your lists are rocking my world right now. I have unfortunately seen Army of the Dead, sub plots that went no where, impossible amounts of things helicopters can carry, plot holes that make sieves look water tight, so disappointing. The Dig was Good! Good actors and evidently a “Real” story being told. 😀👍. I’m gonna try Night in Paradise next.

I love your channel. I've watched a lot of your recommendations and I am never disappointed. Question, what are some of the best South Korean gangster movies in your opinion?

I'm a huge fan of Korean cinema. Try the 'New world' . It blew my mind when i watched it a few years ago. ukposts.info/have/v-deo/romnqHuGimmHqnU.html

gunpowder milkshake was a VERY good looking film. I liked it a lot. good solid action flick, pretty under rated actresses (in my opinion) that did a great job with the roles they were given. worth a watch, even a second one.

The Vault is more realistic than Money heist the series. It's the real Bank of Spain building in Cibele Circle and the military headquarters, are truly across Alcalà street. It is true that if someone tries to break in the vault, Cibele fountain redirects it's water towards the vault. No idea about the pits, they look way too deep. It's also true that there's train and subway tracks passing aside both streets, Alcalà and Paseo del Prado and both lines have stations, one aside the bank and the other right next block across Cibele Circle.

I noticed you didn't have "Wrath of Man" on the list. I thought it was a good movie full of action and a twist at the end. I'm definitely going to see "Beckett" Denzel Washington son is such an amazing actor. They interviewed him about his son and he said if you think he can act you should see my daughter....😁😁

I watched Beckett after watching this review. Good flick. Raw, gritty, and somewhat unpredictable.

Thanks so much for this. Netflix does a great job of hiding so much content by trying to push what they want you to watch, that I've only heard of a few of these movies. Looking forward to Beckett, Things Heard and Seen, Oxygen, Below Zero and Synchronic.
