They'd like to but federal regulations prevent it, fun fact: car companies pay a fine for every car the manufacture that has an engine that does not meet the emission standards, V8's haven't met the standards in the last decade, so car companies have been paying ever increasing fines, which is why you are now seeing 4 cylinder turbo charged engines in mid-size pickup trucks and 6 cylinder twin turbo engines replacing V8's in the upper tier trims. The HD pickup trucks are going to be the last bastion of the V8 and diesel, and if they current madness isn't stopped, those will lose their V8's and Diesels, to be replaced with lord knows what.

The modern flex fuel Ford 5.0L Coyote V8 with Ti-VCT and 12:1 compression is the cleanest burning engine in the pickup world. It only produces about 10% of the emissions of any of the other gasoline truck engines in the market including V6 and 4 cylinder options. Yes that is 90% less emissions when it is run on renewable E-85 ethanol fuel. Alcohol burns cleaner than petroleum, and this Raptor motor is not set up to run on ethanol.

Not loaded, not 10k less. This costs 55k, the ZR2 in base costs 48k and fully loaded it cost 60k. In fact, both of them fully loaded cost 60k. And the Ranger Raptor has a vastly better suspension and chassis, that won’t fold in half on a whoop like the ZR2 did.
