21-gun salute held at Arlington National Cemetery ahead of President Biden and VP Harris' visit

3 роки тому(CBS NEWS) After receiving gifts from congressional leaders, Mr. Biden and Harris participated in the traditional Pass in Review Wednesday (1/, during which they reviewed military troops at the East Front of the Capitol.
Mr. Biden and first lady Dr. Jill Biden, as well as Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff, then got into separate cars, which will take them to Arlington National Cemetery for a wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The black limousine carrying Mr. Biden is adorned with the presidential seal and a license plate that says "46."

It's the salute of a funeral. It's so amazing. People do not realize that the military doesn't make mistakes. The MSM wants us to believe it was Trump's ego that "asked" for a 21 gun salute upon leaving, and rather, he received a FULL PRESIDENTIAL HONORABLE inaugeration 21 gun salute!! Amazing. @@stanjay2426 actually - the presidential cannon salute is 21 in series with 3 second intervals with 3 cannons firing and a fourth cannon available in case of misfires (they actually had to use it during Trump's salute). If you search for Trump's salute, there's one more cannon and way quicker firing. ukposts.info/have/v-deo/q35irn-Bmm6Btok.html The 21 gun salute that they think they're referring to is 7 guns fired together 3 times, typically at funerals and places where these big cannons (there's only 10 left in the US) aren't located.

I just watched Trumps and Obama’s 21 gun salutes. Not the same thing. The inauguration gun salutes have 3 seconds intervals. Biden has 10 second intervals, and I only heard 10 shots.

That is not true. This is a perfectly normal 21 gun salute. The reason four guns are sometimes used is simply as a backup. Here's a clip from George Bush's funeral showing that: ukposts.info/have/v-deo/ppSKq6qRfrCdlXk.html. Four guns are lined up but just three are used. The whole idea that it is three times seven = 21. Seven shots are fired for naval casualties, three times that for land, and using three guns. There is no difference between salutes for foreign dignitaries or the president. I tried searching up information and the closest I got was the US army center of miltary history: history.army.mil/html/faq/salute.html There is zero mention of differences between foreign dignatary, funeral or presidential salutes. If you came up with this idea yourself it means you are consciously choosing to tell a lie and you should stop it. If you got it from somebody else, you should confront them with their lie. You could ask them for an example of a salute for foreign dignitary (shouldn't be too hard to find on youtube). But that will be a waste of time because it is absolutely a lie. So confront them with why they are lying to you instead.

This was done prior to him and Harris arriving at Arlington for the wreath laying ceremony, from what I understand. I'm wondering if they changed things up since they had fences lining the entire area, and heightened security, etc? Maybe they decided they just wouldn't do it at all?? Who knows?

First of all, Trump's salute was held right after inauguration with the Capitol in the background, whereas Biden's was at Arlington. People need to look for the one they did for Trump and compare them. Really look closely at the precision of one compared to the other in the way the military looked and performed as well as the condition of their uniforms and the condition of the soldiers. It is like night and day. You may think one was precision soldiers and one was actors/re-enactors.

This IS a 21 gun salute. The intervals are just longer. When done for inauguration the intervals are supposed to be 3 seconds, not 10 seconds. Also this is a partial video. It was cut short. The full video is out there and very easy to find. I really wish people would take the time to do some research as opposed to trusting one source.

This isn’t Air Force 1. This is Air Force 2, the Jet he got from being Vice President. Also, when he was being introduced in the staged inauguration, the military officer that was with him didn’t wear his medals/badges. A soldier will never bow down to a fake president, they made him be there but they could not make him wear his badges. Also, he never got a proper 21 gun salute. The tradition is to have 4 cannons, trump got it, Obama’s got it etc. He got only 3 cannons, and it was at a cemetery . The only time this happens is to honor a deceased executive or a salute to a foreign dignitary . Biden is the leader of the corrupt democracy known as the US corporation. It went bankrupt and no longer exists. The military is hinting at us that the democrats are not in control. Biden was never elected President because the true Inauguration Day is March 4. You are also incorrect about Air Force 1. Why didn't you know that AF1 is just a call sign and not assigned to a specific aircraft type? You do realise that there is a Presidential/VIP fleet which has several different types? When the flight is short haul or when the destination runway is too short for Boeing 747 operations then the smaller Boeing 757 (Boeing C-32) are used. No different to Trump using the USAF Boeing 757s as AF1. See Trump using the exact same type of aircraft as Biden did as AF1. Because this is a salute in honor of the deceased president. The rest of the presidents had 4, it is in the constitution. So who is the boss? Even Yourself. It couldn't answer after watching this video.

Wasn't this salute for the Ceremony of the Unknown Soldier (that was held inauguration day) which all the "ex-presidents" + Biden attended Wednesday afternoon? Biden didn't get a 21-gun salute. President Trump was given a 21-gun salute at Joint Base Andrews. This was probably the closest thing to a 21-gun salute that the military was agreeable to give Biden. Note that Trump left the White House on Marine One to arrive at Joint Base Andrews. He then left Joint Base Andrews on Air Force One. Why did Biden arrive in DC by private jet (rather than by Air Force One or another military jet)? Was he denied use? What is the 2nd impeachment attempt REALLY about?

Now, first, there was a delay (no reason) so they didn't have 21 gun salute. Watch the inauguration and you can see it took a while for Biden to begin his speech. Second, Trump didn't send the military jet to Biden (Obama did it to Trump and Bush did it to Obama) And finally, Trump got impeached for obvious reasons. Count again. Ten gun salute at ten second intervals...it is my understanding this type of salute is for foreign dignitaries or at a funeral. This took place at the cemetery, not on the plaza. Trump did get a 21 salute the same day.

Why is the salute for Biden taking place at a cemetery? I have not heard of 21-gun salute being performed at a cemetery unless someone has died. For instance, when we buried my father (a Veteran) at a Veteran's Cemetery when he passed away, a 21-gun salute was performed.

A 21 gun salute should not be confused with a 3 volley salute, which is what was done for your father's funeral. The difference is in the weapons used. Guns are cannons, and are used for the 21 gun salute. Rifles are used for the 3 volley salute. Rifles are not guns, hence calling it a 21 gun salute when rifles are used is incorrect.

The clock starts when the loader is back in ready position to load. The next gun fires 3 seconds from that point.
