Correction: the 27-inch 1440p 480Hz WOLED monitor from Asus is actually using a matte coating, not glossy. LG are not producing a glossy coating of that display panel (yet)

One additional thing about new generation LG WOLED panels, they are changing the pixel arrangement from RWBG to RGWB to improve text clarity. The White is still in there, but now the RGB are in the correct order, so it should work better with Subpixel Font smoothing tech.

The MSI 321UPX has additional data ports and 90w USB-C passthrough instead of 15w on the URX. Also, there’s an HP Omen with the flat 32” 4K QD-OLED panel, HDMI and DP 2.1 of unknown bandwidth, a ‘smart’ KVM and 140W USB-C passthrough, but it might hit Q2. You’re right about NVIDIA DSC bugs, like alt-tab on Windows, and I’ve heard of worse on Linux. It consumes display engine bandwidth which can limit supersampling as well.

Nvidia have supported HDMI 2.1 since 3000 series.... and DP 1.4a since at least 2000 series AMD on the other hand, don't have full DP2.1 spec on their 7000 series of cards yet claiming it, it was not even finalized whey they released their current cards and now DP 2.1a comes which is what Nvidia has been waiting for, and RTX 5000 series will get that.

yea dont drop that kind of $$ on an OLED. they have so many issues that non of these tuber speak to much about. You have to worry about burn in and deal with all the crap power saving software built into these monitors. just save your $$ until these get dirt cheap to the point if your monitor fails it wont be a massive hit to the wallet or wait for mini LED and Micro LED monitors which are a better longevity investment. INKY BLACKS and everything they promise for OLED is the same for Mini/micro LED. its all about lighting zones. Mini led screen literally have thousand of zones, meaning they can just be turned off for black scenes. Burn in affects so many OLED panels making your life a living hell and there is the software that is trying to prevent that you have to deal with. And to limit RMA they force it on the user most of the time. often resulting in severe dimming of you $1000+ monitor at random times.

@@d1on It's not about "advantage". If a person is spending four figures on a product, then said product should use current technologies. @@Raivo_K I get your point but USB is something else as you MIGHT connect a device that benefits from the faster connector - but if the monitor itself doesn’t support any resolutions or refresh rates that would require DP 2.1 it would be a complete waste having this and it literally doesn’t make any difference despite the number on the fact sheet… So yeah 2.1 would’ve been better but I don’t really see the point why you should bother, though.

8:35 this is what’s had me on the fence for qd-oled. I don’t only game in the pitch black at night and even my 2019 B9 Oled looks amazing during the day. Has full hdmi 2.1. 120hz Gsync on a 4k Oled is amazing motion is insane. I imagine super diminishing returns after 240hz…. 120hz is already smoother than 240hz IPS imo. We also have a C3 as of last week. Still love my B9 and it’s still my gaming tv! The C3 is in my wife’s office. It’s a little bit brighter! You notice it more on the C3 than noticing a lack of brightness on the B9. The B9 has a really great brightness level where it is bright enough to pop and look vivid with HDR with the perfect black level. The C3 is a bit brighter and honestly it causes an effect VERY, VERY similar to blooming on my Sony X900H and X90K. The light from subtitles and bright logos on a completely black background is bright enough to cause actual light bleed, like a Halo, around it. Like when you look at a street light and see the halo of light around it. The B9 does not do that so the black level is superior on the B9 despite both being LG Oleds. The light just barely starts to Halo, but just not bright enough to really Halo significantly. So it still looks so vivid while having perfect blacks. Definitely my favorite gaming tv. All my tv’s hurt my eyes from being so bright but the B9 does the least. Essentially, it DOES pop and look vivid, but its a perfect level for me that looks great while still keeping the blacks perfect. The C3 really does have a halo glow on bright objects that causes an effect very similar to FALD blooming. The C3 and X90K are tied for my favorite tv for movies and tv shows. Depends if I want the best brightness with a good black level and a bigger screen on the X90K, or the best contrast and (almost) perfect black level (halo effect I mentioned from being a bit to bright) while still being very bright of the C3. They both are next level viewing experiences IMO. And the B9 is just the sweet spot for everything for gaming, or for watching “Artsy Oled Demos”.

Also curious about the 2000:1 “IPS Black” technology that was being mentioned for some of the other displays, as the only issue with my current 38” is its lower contrast ratio. I don’t plan to upgrade until I see an improvement at that specific resolution as it provides more vertical real estate. These monitors look amazing, my only worry is that graphics cards can't play most unreal engine 5 games at 144 hz let alone 360 hz. I hope they come up with new ways to make the games easier to run or something. I have a 3060 16 gb, I know it's not top of the line but I would like to be able to play a game at 144hz 2k for 500 bucks. Maybe I'm a crazy person.

That's why framegen exists. To fully saturate that high refresh rate

You can play games "at 144hz 2k for 500 bucks" right now... If you want to do this at 4K high refresh rate on unreal engine 5, yeah you might be a bit crazy to expect to do it for 500 bucks.

@@GewelReal Even most cards that can use frame gen can’t even come close to hitting those refresh rates in UE5 games. At minimum you’d be looking at a 4080 and even then within a year it’ll be insufficient

Have you guys considered reviewing the KTC G27P6? It's a 27" OLED 1440p 240hz. Priced pretty competitively right now, $700US, would be interested to see what you guys thought about it. Keep up the awesome work!!

Please make a WOLED vs QD OLED comparison for the new generations once you get comparable models in your shop. Text rendering, viewing angels, reflections, estimated burn in etc etc.

exciting times ahead alright. I might probably go for the gigabyte 4K one, I mean dp 2.1 is extremely future proof considering the future nvidia cards will have this port aswell . But we haven't recieved any info on the HDR certification or peak brightness of the panel. If the monitor will have VRR and GSync support or compatibility. I'll wait for the reviews anyway

1.4 is enough and work on 2.1 so it's as futureproof as 2.1.

@@InFlamesor12 Imagine you have a slow external hard drive with usb 2.0. It's useless to have 3.0 because the speed is less than maximum 2.0. Same story for these monitors, they can't reach the limit of DP1.4 dsc. Therefore DP2.1 is useless now and will always be.

I would love an OLED version of my gigabyte m34wq ultrawide with built in kvm. That's a must have feature for me now after using it with my pc and work laptop. So handy to just connect a usb-c cable and work from home on a lovely ultrawide
