▶1. ATS - Aircraft Towing System
ATS World Wide (ATS) LLC created an innovative alternative to traditional aircraft tugging and taxiing methods. The system is designed to transport aircraft from the runway via the taxiway to the airport gates and back to the runway without the use of the main jet engines. ATS uses an electro hydraulic powered pullcar and tow dolly system innovatively designed to automatically transport aircraft at airports using the ATS underground channel system. After landing, the pilot taxis to the appropriate taxiway and drives the aircraft nose wheel onto the ATS tow dolly.

▶ 2. PaxLift - Next Generation Ambulift
PaxLift is a purpose-built vehicle, designed for safe and comfortable PRM passenger transportation; not an adapted commercial or industrial vehicle. It provides free movement, even with the cabin raised, and a safe and time-efficient docking process.
Bauman’s expertise and experience of manufacturing heavy lifting equipment, ensures that unlike other Ambulifts, the PaxLift can manoeuver safely whilst at serviceable heights of up to 8 meters. And in response to the latest Airport Handling Manual (AHM) from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), stating that all GSE machinery is to have a no-touch policy, PaxLift has become one of the first Ambulifts with a no-touch system ensuring that it is not required to come into contact with the aircraft it supports. The new system comprises of four sensors, which control the approach to the aircraft and stops the PaxLift once it reaches a safe position. An automatic swivelling system for the platform has been integrated, and functions without the need to touch the aircraft.

Royce - it’s looking for a way to get bugs into the aircraft engines it builds.
These “bugs” aren’t software glitches or even actual insects. They’re tiny robots modeled after the cockroach. Rolls-Royce shared the latest developments in its research into cockroach-like robots at the Farnborough International Airshow. ROBO-MECHANICS. Rolls-Royce believes these tiny insect-inspired robots will save engineers time by serving as their eyes and hands within the tight confines of an airplane’s engine. According to a report by The Next Web, the company plans to mount a camera on each bot to allow engineers to see what’s going on inside an engine without have to take it apart.
