5 basic judo throws everyone should know
I hand selected these five techniques because I think they are very basic and effective. Also, with these techniques as a base, you can put together many many combinations.
1. O uchi gari
2. O soto gari
O uchi and o soto work great as a combination. O uchi gari is an inside trip, and o soto gari is an outside trip. They are both backwards throws.
3. Koshi Guruma
Wrap your dominant arm around the head, elevate and pull the sleeve.
4. O goshi
Can be done off of the underhook with a belt grip. O goshi and Koshi guruma are both hip throws and turning throws.
5. Sasae tsuri komi ashi
Fake o goshi and then block the ankle for sasae.

@GregTom2 4 Ρ€ΠΎΠΊΠΈ Ρ‚ΠΎΠΌΡƒ
@@ronin2167 Ippon seoi nage is not a very good throw because you have no control on your opponent's position during a critical few milliseconds. You don't see them, you don't hold them, you don't feel them with your hands. As a result, it is the single easiest and most consistant technique to dodge in randori at all levels, either by going clockwise, counterclockwise, or rushing into the opponent for a tai-otoshi. I don't think I've been thrown by ippon soi nage since 2007. I would advise replacing ippon with morote seoi nage every single time.

it works till you get someone that does martial arts. I do MMA and you have to catch someone offguard for it to work and even if u do it fails alot so we usually directly go for another takedown after it.

I practiced Judo for about 10 years (started as a kid) but had a long break tying other sports and stuff but in the end everything throws me back to Judo at some point, so I started it again after like maybe 8 years of a break. And guys, it feels like starting right from the beginning, sure I know most of the technics but I realised, that I remember some of them not as good as I thought I would and some even wrong wich is a bit frustrating but also normal after 8 years not practising I guess. Anyway, your videos help me a lot to refresh my knowledge off the dojo training and I'd like to thank you for the verry nice explaination of the technices, it's way better than learning it from books again, so yeah, this is helping me a lot. One more excellent video!!! Mr. Shintaro, could you do a video of grip fighting in freestyle rules? Like when the opponent (or you) can break your (his) grip with two hands, etc. Another suggestion would be a video of good takedowns options when the opponent intends to pull guard, since in this case, if you take too long adjusting the grips he will drag you to the ground.
