The cd launcher is very Far Cry as they’ve gotten more ridiculous over the years. It fits in it’s own way. Also, yes, it is just a repurposed saw launcher from New Dawn, but I wouldn’t expect everyone to know this.

Most far crys are like that. In 3 the tribals tried to get you to kill your friends. In 5, Joseph ended up being right about the nukes, and you the player destroyed 3 large bunkers that could've held everyone in the valley.

They definitely exist that much is obvious from the game play. It will probably be reminiscent of a smaller just cause 3 map in my opinion. Some dense Havana style cities with a lot of open jungle and marsh in between.

And crafting, perks that aren't just stat boosts, and towers, I feel like with FC5 they removed so many aspects of the previous games that exist for the sake of character progression.

@@oliverdavis4642 Far Cry 2 was very thematically influenced by Heart of Darkness and similar literature/media, where maintaining your humanity as you descend deeper into a world of chaos is meant to be a constant struggle, and malaria strongly represents that battle against the elements; where to even stay alive you have to constantly be taking pills. I personally enjoy the realism and ambiance it creates, and it fits with the series' original vision - of a battle against the harsh, unforgiving elements. As another commenter said; you're *meant* to be afraid, and you're *meant* to hate the world of Far Cry. If you were a mercenary in Africa, you *would* be worrying about malaria, you *would* hate having to take those pills. You'd constantly be worrying about if your gun breaks on the next shot, or how to find your way to your next destination, far more so than you would be about the next arbitrary 'skill upgrade' or when you can get the new pink-and-purple skin for your flamethrower. Modern Far Cry seems to have completely forgotten that, to the point where the environment hardly even poses a threat anymore, you've got 'le XD funny meme weapons', toilet humor, and 'hecking cute doggerino' as content that comes off as desperate and incredibly out-of-touch. Now it's just a weird Just Cause/Assassin's Creed hybrid thing that is only managing to stay afloat off of it's writing and characters, and if it doesn't find it's niche again soon then we're never gonna get another actual Far Cry game.

I don't see any FC2 in this one tbh. Which is kind of disappointing to me, since that's still my favourite in the series. Tone wise it seems to attempt outdoing Just Cause. Quite the opposite of what Far Cry 2 is. Not saying they can't do whatever they want with this franchise but I don't know about this one. Though to be fair ever since my disappointment with Far Cry 3, my interest in the series dwindled a bit.

I assume the rocket back thing is either treated as a special ability, and it gives you an invincibility window while you use it, or the ai, at least in this demo (maybe to show off the player and their strengths), has stormtrooper level aim.

@@Tbadaj far cry 5 had bad ai. I personally thought 5's ai was worse to 4's in most ways and I hope they wont be that bad in 6 cause it really does make a huge difference in gameplay. They need to bring back far cry 2's ai which is some of the best ive seen in any game

I loved the takedowns in new dawn. Wish they woulda kept in the badass animations from that, but I could see why. A lot of the takedowns were slow and kept you open for way too long.

@@VashGames Easy doesn't change AI, it would be things like enemy reinforcements, how much damage you take, supplies, stronger enemy types. I haven't known a Ubisoft game that changes AI from dumb to skilled.

I have 9 days in far cry 5. I absolutely love the title but I do agree. The guns lacked a bit of weight but they did add ballistics to the game which I loved.

@@toddhoward1133 I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to notice that. The movement had more weight and less floaty in FC4 and had impact when shooting or using melee. I had a feeling this game was going to return to that combat system

I felt the same way about some of the strange "handmade" weapons, but as long as I can completely avoid them, I'll be good. I like the suppressor mechanics of overheating and losing the stealthy nature for a bit.

But I will admit, applying a weed whacker motor to a minigun is pretty hilarious, even if borderline impossible to carry. And plus, just because I don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the game. I can avoid it and use more realistic weapons, and other people might get more enjoyment out of it. To each their own. So long as I'm not forced to use them, more power to the devs, honestly. *Edited for typos.*
