It was a great movie. One person hinted that Lazar was probably short for Lazarus, one of the immortals spoken of briefly in Underworld and the name was also mentioned in the Vampire Chronicles. One also stated that maybe Abigail was actually Valdez.

I loved this movie. It's horribly gory but in a fun way. It has a very similar vibe to Ready or Not. Alisha Weir killed it as Abigail. She was clearly having a ball. I loved her in Matilda and she's just as great here.

What interesting is Joey promised that she wouldn’t harm Abigail. Joey is the only character that didn’t try to act lay kill her after they find out what she is. The only thing Joey did was knock her out which she was not in anyway a way to kill her.

I think they were borrowing a bit from Interview with the Vampire- the idea a child vampire will never be as powerful as an adult vampire. Not all vampire stories follow that concept, but maybe this one did.

Maybe not as powerful, but I'd like to think that a child vampire living for centuries would sure be experienced in combat. She has mobility, experience, and speed to her advantage. Also, I get that she's a ballerina vampire, but I'd like to see her be more graceful, yet playful. Exhibiting it in creative ways, beyond just twirling/spinning. Plus, they could use her tiny body to their advantage by allowing for more feral maneuvers like clinging and crawl on walls. That way we get both sides of her, it's equally shocking as it is terrifying for her prey.

Because of most vampire lore like in interview with a vampire, you stay the body of whenever you turned. So if she’s about 12 years old when she was bitten, she’s stuck in the body of a 12 year-old girl, but mentally she will grow. Most vampire does not have any natural born vampires because it doesn’t make any logical sense unless it’s with a human.

there is something so tragic but disturbing about a child vampire. anyway, to me, it does seem quite likely that Abigail is not Lazar's daughter, but actually his sire. a vampire of her age would not be in need of a father figure because she is a few centuries old, she is past that. but she sired an older man to do her bidding and the work as a figurehead. we can see that she is truly the one in control, Lazar came when she called, she chastised him, and she also made him let Joey go. and as far as the people who screwed up, she personally targets and kills them as punishment. clearly, she is the real master(mind).

I really enjoyed the movie, the one critique I had though was that they were really inconsistent with how strong Abigail was (physically I mean), like in one scene, she effortlessly punches a steel door off it's hinges so hard it flies across the room, and in the scene before that she can't stop one regular human from pinning her down for an extended time, and also seriously struggles fighting one freshly made vampire, despite being centuries old elder herself.

I enjoyed Abagail but not as much as Ready or Not which I believe is filming a sequel with Samara Weaving. A funny twist is how the writers made Dracula the same actor from A Discovery of Witches and Downton Abbey. It felt like the same horror universe (satanists, vampires) since when people died, they had the same purple goo of Ready or Not. Would I see a prequel or sequel to Abagail? Yes. Would I LOVE it being connected to Ready or Not? Absolutely!

Since Abigail has set up the whole scenario, what's to say she didn't fake being knocked out by the tranquilizer just for shits & giggles? Also why didn't the gang work out that it would have been easier just grab Abigail as she was leaving ballet practice? Just the limo driver to take out & less possibility of Lazar and his entourage turning up unannounced (as they do).

Best Vampire Movie since Fright Night (1985) and the Swedish "Låt den rätte komma in and even the american remake "Let Me In" with Chloë Grace Moretz is very good. Abigail is great vampirew movie overall, but this is Alisha Weir's movie 100% Her performance is outstanding in every way. Not easy to do all the things she does, but she handles it like the pro she is. She made Abigail into the cool character she is.

I like monster movies with nuance, like let the right one in. Abigaile is a child, yeah she is ancient, but that does not change she probably still has the brain of a child. She gets used by her father, probably has no one who reasures her or anything . . . Her whole life is a preformance ment to make her father proud and this woman is the first in an etwrnity who treats her like a child, expresses worry for her, and treats her like she is worth something unrelated to skill or usefulness. Shortly after she gets hurt, what should have been fun and games turns out to be life threatening and an adult she trusted turns agsinst her . . .makes sense ahe seeks security in the one person who just cared for her! She safed her life and it is only fair to respect that! If she where her motger she would take care of her like abis father does not for her and ahe has a kid at home . . .it makes sense to not repay her help and kindness with death, . . .even or especially on mob situations you know to value loyality and not punish it

It's amazing they got Elon Musk to act in the film. They really should have released this in the horror film season. And they really shouldn't have shown abigail in the marketing videos. This was one of those horrific marketing campaigns where they give away the store and destroy demand for the movie instead of creating demand. It's basically a fun, traditional horror film and a good way to spend about 2 hours being entertained for less than an hour's wages. Decent physical performance by the actor playing Abigail.
