By FAR the most useful thing to come to Strava (for me anyway) in a long time. Happily donated and can't wait to see how it grows.

Looking forward to playing around with this - I see Mute, but as a Dual Recorder, it would be great if I could Delete an Activity or at least change it's visibility.

This is great, love it. Any chance you add a rule that allows you to remove those peloton images?

@@robhampson2538 I believe Settings -> Partner Integrations allows you to switch these images off.

I just did the same - very useful. I sometimes forgot to change the bike and my CBD anxiety switch will be on when looking at the missed gear and part odometer total

@@dr_taka it’s working for me for 2 of my 3 rules. When I commute to the CBD office the location start and finish labels the ride a ‘commute’. My gravel/town bike doesn’t have a power meter so I’ve set that as the default bike in Strava and set a power meter rule for the road bike so when I ride that (commute or not) it changes the bike used in Strava. Those two rules are faultless so far but the 3rd is for my old Tacx trainer (with an old bike on it) and the rule I set isn’t recognising it so it’s tagging the default Strava bike in error. I’ll experiment something else with that. I’ve got two other bikes (MTB and tandem I ride with my wife) that I can’t think of a way to ID yet. Early days but the developers have thought this through so I flipped them a bit of cash to help

But can you see the different gears used? If I put gears in the "what would be changed" section, then I could only select None or No gear found. So I have a feeling thet Activity fix doesn't see my used bikes/ shoes in Strava....

@@schaeferdev 15 minute and daily. Strava will lift them but an application needs to be submitted and approved

Are muted shorter rides still added to your total miles/hours stats on Strava?

@@KeepChessSimple yes, it just flags them as muted on strava, so the normal mute rules on strava apply.

Agreed. And something I've logged with Strava before as it seemed such a no-brainer - that sensor is that bike. Good on him.

I'd never heard of it before I came across ActivityFix. Looks like it has been around a lot longer. @Igor, as the developer I suggest you promote your Strautomator site/service more widely. I'd have covered it here had I known about it.

I hadn't heard of it before either, which is why I decided to create my own solution (I started mine last December). Had I known it existed I probably would have just worked with Igor to enhance Strautomator with all the things I wanted. In good news, nothing prevents you from using both and taking advantage of whichever features you prefer from each; they'll actually work together quite well.

@@gplama Yes you're right, maybe I should. I always thought this "Strava automation" thing had a minuscule target audience, so I made an initial announcement on Twitter last year and since then most users are joining due to word-of-mouth. Judging by the comments on your video, I was clearly wrong - lots of people out there looking for these features. If you ever try Strautomator for its other features (weather, gear wear alerting and exported calendars), your feedback is more than welcome 🙂

ActivityFix has account level access to your Strava (like most things you link with the API), so it'll edit the activities when they're private too. Meaning the timing issue still occurs. Private by default and 'releasing' just what you want public is a good way to ensure you don't spam feeds though. 👌🏼

Am doing the same thing by defaulting to private. I haven't been yet able to find the ability in this tool/app to change the visibility from private to "followers". Did I miss that? I'd like to do the edits automatically and the last action would be to change visibility away from private (and if one day I get a KOM even to "public" 😲 😁)

And now I realize that you already had the answer in the video - sorry. Have to hope for an API change. But now I have to rethink my process and rules (away from defaulting to private)

@@NeilSlater I've mentioned in this video that there's no ability to change privacy settings via the API (what ActivityFix uses).

Unfortunately it cannot. I've asked Garmin for this functionality but they insist that their platform is read-only for third parties.

Stages should actually work as they publish a full serial number in the FIT file. I was working on some bug fixes around ANT+ IDs and I probably screwed up Stages in the process. Unfortunately the ANT+ stuff is really hard to test because I only have so many sensors, I can't flex like Shane and have 20 power meters saved :) I'll work on a fix for it soon.

@@activityfix thanks for the laugh! You can remove the “(Probably wrong, Stages is weird)”. The Ant+ID is reporting properly. I checked a few PMs.

@@larrywhite8590 Thanks. It's a slow process of figuring out which Manufacturers correctly report the ANT+ ID in the place I expect it. I'll update for 4iiii. Stages still seems a bit weird depending on which power meter version you have.

I actually just learned about Strautomator a few days ago so I'm not an expert here. As I see it, the main differences are these, but there's also nothing to stop you from using both. ActivityFix advantages: * Integration with Garmin + Wahoo for ANT+ sensors * Counters, which Shane briefly covered. I see Strautomation has them but the customization seems more limited, unless I'm missing something * Activity history to help with rule debug - Every activity is shown along with the values compared to whether or not it matched a rule * It's free for everything and I don't add any advertising to your activities or limits on the number of rules Strautomator advantages: * Gear tracking * Weather and weather-based rules * Ability to apply to previous activities (planned future addition to ActivityFix)

Good question. Strava should have a number of these features already for sure. Supporting an advanced feature like this rule set feature is an overhead at mega-scale. Strava Labs should have it!

@@ivanradoszyce8183 They jumped on my report of a Local Legend cheater the other day within a few hours. They have to work with scale in mind. This means slower progress in the main product. As above, Labs is where this should live.

No. It's dummy data on ActivityFix. The last thing Zwift need is new worlds. They need to squash their bugs and focus on QA first.

When testing a rule the map shows dummy data. The actual ride data (distance, elevation) is from the activity but for now the map is just a static image of the AF logo over Boston (where I live). I may change it to use real map data in the future once I get through my growing pains of rate limits and bugs Shane finds while recording his video :)

ActivityFix will only do a single pass of the rules when the activity is uploaded. You can then change anything on Strava with an edit on there and it'll remain edited.

@@gplama what if you have multiple Apps updating your ride data. Which one is first? Example I use Klimat to add weather data and an icon to the ride name. Will this app overwrite that or does it run first?

@@sailandski It depends on which one gets in first, and if they append or replace the data/information.

@@sailandski I intentionally add a 10 second delay before processing for this reason. Klimat does an overwrite instead of append, and during my testing I ran in to this issue frequently and thought AF was broken. 10s seems to be enough to let all the other apps fight it out. Just be sure to use add to description if you're using Klimat so your rules don't overwrite the weather data.

​@@fuffy66 In the intro Shane specifically talks about assigning a bike based on Di2. My understanding of the comment at the end was that Di2 does not have a unique ID in the fit file, so it wouldn't be able to distinguish between two bikes with Di2. I could be wrong though.

It’s certainly quite easy technically. Maybe if the feature doesn’t exist you can request it? Prepend instead of append.

@@spirro78 Working on that as well. Strava mods have decided to ignore me. I'm reading through all the comments here, I'll work on adding prepend once I get through all the rate limit issues and fix the bugs Shane found in his video.

Shane is a bit too popular. I'm working on getting the limit increased, waiting for a reply from Strava which will hopefully be some time today.

No BLE sensor support at this point, as I understand.

​@@kevinbroadstreet8053 Garmin doesn't include much BLE sensor data in FIT files for some reason. I can see that the sensors exist but the file doesn't provide any way to uniquely identify which sensor it is. After processing a file I know that there were X number of BLE sensors connected and that's all, they otherwise look identical. I thought about adding an option for "any bluetooth sensor connected" but that seemed likely to create more problems than it solved.

@@gplama Annoyingly this means we cannot get Power data from a Wahoo KickR bike whilst using the BLE. Hope they do a fix. Great video BTW.

Garmin Connect on the web has weather information in the map display.

I have it fixed now. It is exactly what you suggest, I strip the HTML tags to avoid any kind of injection attacks, and was a bit too aggressive in removing them.

It doesn't need to... the site has hit API rate limits and now doesn't work.... 🤣 They're working on a fix.

I'll adapt as well as I can, I've already had to make a few changes for things they removed or changed (you used to be able to change privacy settings, for example). I plan to keep this alive and functioning (and free) for as long as possible.
