This feels as if someone is telling me to move on from a toxic person and it’s as if it’s a warning to just let them go because they will just break your heart again.

I finally quit alcohol and cigarettes the day I finally understood that the devil doesn’t bargain- there’s no just a little bit with the devil, it’s all or nothing and that “all” is death and distraction. I’ve been sober for a year and three months now. I give God the glory. ❤

I’ve had so many friends who have hurt me. This song is so relatable when it comes to a toxic friendship or a friend. I’ve lost so many. But it’s good i let them go. They were just hurting me more than I thought.

This is literally what my friends told me for years about a toxic I was very close with. He used me for a long time. I didn't listen and ended up getting seriously hurt. I really needed to hear this, and I'm glad I did. Great song :)

This just made my day. I heard the song a few days ago from one of my roommates and it hit completely different. I shazamed it immediately and here we are. Alec Benjamin is phenomenal. I've never heard songs from him before but now that I have I'm loving what I'm hearing. For someone who's had to face and battle with problems, anxieties and most especially depression this hits hard. It has a deeper meaning behind it. This is one of my favourites. Definitely going to be on my playlist. Please don't pass by without liking this comment so I can come back and listen to this masterpiece. Totally a classic.

Holy crap. I knew you were a wholesome artist from "If We Have Each Other" but oh my gosh. I had no idea. This is absolutely incredible. Echoes everything I went through when I had anorexia a few years ago. I thought I could keep my "little friend" around and be alright, but I eventually learned that you can't be whole if you sell your soul. Absolutely amazing man! Prayers for you

This song makes me think of my boyfriend's sister. She passed away December 13, 2022. She had a daughter with an abusive, narcissistic man. He abused her physically, emotionally, and mentally all throughout her pregnancy. He demanded all of her phone passwords and wanted to know where she was and who she was with at all times. The day before she went into the hospital to be induced, he violently grabbed her and threw her on to the bed. She had purple bruises up and down her arms from him grabbing her so hard. The day after she gave birth, he got drunk and found a picture of her with her ex-fiancee, who she hadn't been with in years. He thought she was cheating on him and flew into a rage. She holding the baby and he dragged her out of bed and slammed her against a wall with their daughter still in her arms. He pulled her hair, tried to choke her, and beat her up. She was covered in bruises and her white tank top had blood all over it. She fell into a deep depression. They separated, but she still allowed him to come around sometimes. A few months after the big incident, he smashed her windshield, slashed her tires, and destroyed her cell phone in another fit of rage. She had to run across the street to the neighbors' house to call the police. She planned to take him to trial for his crimes, but unfortunately, she had already passed away by the time his trial date came around, and the justice system failed her and all the other women he abused-- sadly she was not the first. He got away with all of the abuse because she was deceased and could not testify, even though there was a police report detailing what happened and arrest records. Now my boyfriend's parents (her grandparents) and this guy are in the middle of a custody battle for the little girl. He doesn't really want her. He couldn't even be bothered to show up to get her after her mother died-- and she was only 15 months old at the time. He is using the little girl as a pawn to get back at my boyfriend's mom for calling the police and having him arrested for abusing my boyfriend's sister. They are trying to get custody of her due to his history of domestic violence as well as alcohol and drug abuse. He doesn't even have a driver's license right now because of DUIs and the fact that he has wrecked every car he's ever owned and his mother's car. Needless to say it has been an extremely stressful situation. If you read all the way through this, please please please GET AWAY FROM AN ABUSIVE PARTNER!!! You cannot change them. It will not get better. They will continue to abuse you. Please let this story be a warning to you of what can happen. There are resources out there if you need help getting out of an abusive situation. Please protect yourself and your children if you have any. LOVE ≠ ABUSE
