Grand Slam Winners have been dominated by Women 5ft.9+. At 5 ft.5 like Barty you have to be very highly skilled to dominate. Shorter reach, takes more steps to get to the ball etc...

@@jnid1758 It's the Forehand, Coco will constantly battle that side. Looking at it here, it's more compact, but it still not a penetrating shot.

@@KH-sn2sj Yeah, i think you are right. Her forehand is good, lots of spin on it, but it gets neutralized by Barty's vicious high backhand slice. Barty can also flatten her forehand well, so it's hard beating her on that side too. With the amount of spin Coco has on her forehand, she might find rewarding to occasionally mix in sharper angles.

It’s more like Barry wasn’t playing well first two sets. She made more than 50 UE. Once she stopped, she won the match lol

Barty has a such variation to her game, she is fun to watch. And Gauff is the real deal. She has a complete game to go with a lot of power, and she seems very mature. She has a very high ceiling.

Which such weak performance I don't think she deserves world #1 spot in Women's singles. I am not critizing her. I am just saying, that she must improve her game if she wants to retain her #1 spot in the world until the end of the season.

Naomi didn't play much after her French Open fiasco, because she needed to recover from mental breakdown, Kenin only played badly because Kanepi crushed her badly and Muguruza to destroyed her badly in their matches, Andreescu didn't play much due to injury. Also Halep. After she suffered calf injury during French Open she didn't participate in tournaments for 3 month's until then she was constantly ranked inside top 10. Never outside top 10.

She'll crack the top 10 this year. Could have closed out vs. the current #1 in straight sets but had some early season nerves. She has all the tools right now to win titles

You "package" people in corporate jobs and tell everyone they're great when they're not. In those arenas, "success" is subjective. In sport, success is not subjective. Everyone sees your true performance. You either win or you lose, and Gauff has won enough to be the 22nd best player in the world... not in a local country club or even just in the United States, but the world. And she's getting all of the media attention and opportunities due someone of her ranking.

Obviously you'll are her fans or probably trolls... She is good but not as good as its portrayed, I. Won't taking of un sponsored tennis players like hsieh, rybakina, et al.

Corey…….look it up. Restaurant failed. There are a lot of players better than her out there …..she is overhyped and the WTA and media fawns over her. I do feel bad for her with her parents milking off her though…..her dad needs to be a man and go get a job while the mom travels with her or vice versa whatever.

Cherinthia……….never said her parents milking money off of her had anything to do with her playing , although it might effect her stress level. She is overhyped and treated like a princess in the media. Just pointed out the fact that her parents income all comes from a 17 year old tennis player and that is not hard to prove when you see them both in the stands year round.

When shes 22 no one will be talking about her because she'll be out of the top 100.
