I would not have apologized to Audi. I read the email and was shocked at their mentality. My personal opinion (for anyone who cares) - What you and team Apex did with that particular press car is literally the best showcase for such a vehicle, it helped you and part of Germany during and after a massive and horrific natural disaster. It was the best PR Audi have had since they built the quattro, too many of these manufacturers have their heads up their bums and literally can't see good from bad. Audi, who the hell are you employing as your reps? If you have such a shortage of decent reps who could see the potential in situations like this, don't just hire chimps, throw me a message, this whole situation could have been turned into an amazing PR campaign, how normal everyday Audi cars, which might not be built for it, but still do an amazing job even in situations of natural disaster, bringing back the whole quattro heritage thing... Ford europe is more german than anything else. The cars are developed up the road and they have a bumnch of factories. Those vans being 1 year old were probably lease vans and managed by ford germany. Except Audi is Audi and they aren't from anywhere around there. They just want the PR from the ring.

Your recent videos in that car have me looking at RS4's - it's proven to be a very versatile car, there was a clip in one of the videos recently where someone was saying "wow, look how big the boot is" (I can't remember exactly which one it was but you were loading the car at Apex in the morning". I honestly thought, hoped this video was going to be Audi saying, Misha - "keep the car for another 4 weeks, you need it more than we do". What a shocker from Audi, i'll probably look at second hand instead as dealing with the manufacturer does not sound appealing.

You only need to look at the video where they drive into a village, he didn't go through a patch of mud that on camera at least didn't look like it would have posed a problem to the car, he even resisted 'peer pressure' from a passenger that suggested it would be fine. There are car reviewers who will have recorded themselves revving it when cold and thrashing it to get multiple angles of it launching to 60mph/100km/h, but someone who shows restraint from driving through a patch of mud is who they have a problem with. After reading many reviews of the RS6 and how its not that great of a driver,( too heavy, too numb, not very dynamic, guzzles oil and costs too much). I thought it all made sense. Then I watched it perform all week in your videos doing humanitarian work and carrying supplies and people to assist in a natural disaster. And I thought this is the perfect car. Audi must be loving the coverage they are getting. Basically a text book real life review with so much good cause involved. The car actually looked cool and desirable with all the dirt and people in it. When Misha spoke of the letter, I got a sick feeling in my stomach. How rude, inappropriate and arrogant can a corporate representative be. You blew the best press vehicle could ever have. Now it's time for all the UKpostsrs that know Misha and Robert and have benefited from their content to refuse any offer of any Audi product to show how unacceptable their position is. Audisteer does suck, and so does the corporate PR attitude. Unacceptable and sad. Misha I don't think you should have apologized, or cleaned the car. If they had a brain they would have requested it back unwashed so they could display it the way it was and all it helped you and your team do. You don't need their vehicles for content. You live and work at the one of the best place for cars in the world.

Remember Ford also has to sell these 50 vans they gave away, vans that were otherwise in almost-perfect shape when handed to volunteers, and had the common sense to set no requirements for their state upon return given the circumstances. I honestly thought the RS6 dealing with tough situations was some sick marketing and assumed Audi would benefit of it, but apparently not... because their beloved RS6 worth 5 Transits takes priority over helping people in a critical situation to them, it seems.

I don't think you owed Audi any apology. I don't know what, if any, kind of contract you may have signed said or stipulated about usage of the car, but given the circumstances I think you did the best you could, and it was great. After the flooding, you couldn't take the car on the Nürburgring because it was closed, but you showed real world usage of the car and how it could be used daily, and I would say it passed those tests with flying colors. I would guess that more than 80% of RS6s rarely get pushed to the limits, so to see it hauling people, supplies, driving through some off-road-ish type scenarios is great. I think the car is beautiful, and if I were in the market and position to buy such a car, I would have considered it, because who doesn't like a performance wagon. But after this, no thanks.
