In an interview with The Boston Globe, Burr said "I'm the 'dude, bro' guy." According to the Montreal Gazette, Burr is "a cynic and a contrarian who has never paid any heed to political correctness"
Burr cites Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Sam Kinison and Patrice O'Neal as the five greatest stand-up comedians of all time.

IMO the best comedians have great delivery of their jokes. Dave Chappelle does it with that unique voice of his. Bill Burr does it also, with that Boston accent which really serves him well as a comedian.

I don't think that's why he's popular. He definitely does, but there's truth behind his humor and that is the refreshing part of it. He follows traditional humor without catering to whatever narrative that is currently ruining comedy.

Well my worst job was done in pyjama pants. Calling coworkers in the middle of Covid-19 and laying them off. 5 of those calls a day for a week (civilian sector) was 10 times worse that any week I did as an Airborne Ranger. "What am I going to tell my wife/husband/kids?“ Sitting there on the other end of a Zoom-call with nothing to say, would have traded those pyjama pants for my Camos at any moment.
