I remember several years ago my boyfriend and I ran into Billy Barry at one of those celebrity autograph/meet and greet events. He was cruising around on his scooter and stopped to talk with my bf (who is also an actor). Mr. Barty was nothing but kind and generous with his time. There was no ego, no sense of self importance…. Just an genuinely nice person. Thank you Mr. Barty. R.I.P.

My mother tells me that when i was a baby, Billy lived across the street from us in Hollywood. My father was John Anthony Bailey who was also part of the krofft supershow and that Billy was awesome and would sometimes watch me as a baby. That some folks said he was a cranky drunk but always had time and smiles for me. *shrug* i dont remember but i love the idea of it as ive always enjoyed his work 😊❤

remember seeing Billy on Little House on the Prairie as Little Lou, who was good with figures, but Mrs Olsen wouldnt hire him to work in the mercantile, because he was a little person. Poor guy got thrown in the prison, for taking food to feed his family......until they needed him to go down the well and rescue Nancy, i believe, who had accidentally fallen down the well. It was a very memorable episode.

I had the opportunity to meet Billy Barty at an autograph show that was held at the Beverly Garland Hotel. I was having trouble deciding what picture I wanted him to sign. I was a fan for as long as I could remember. I finally opted for one from the movie "Willow", but he signed a smaller picture of him as himself and handed that one to me too. He was very friendly and kind. There was this really beautiful woman sitting with him, but I don't know who she was. I'm so glad I had that opportunity to meet him. One of the perks of being a child in Southern California we were privileged to get to see his "Billy Barty's Big Top" show. I was pretty young, but I remember it. All the Sid & Marty Krofft stuff a Saturday morning staple at my house. He lived in such a modest home. I guess I'm not surprised. He's been in so many things that I didn't even realize. Thank you Scott for bringing back some fond memories. 🥰

Back in 1962-1964 Billy Barty had a show on Los Angeles local TV channel 11 called "The Billy Barty Show." He hosted the show with kids in the audience participating with quizzes and contests along with Billy showing cartoons. This was an after school kids show. I was around 8 years old when this show was on and watched this show everyday after school. He will always be close to my heart and other Los Angeles kids back then. I thought I'd mention this info for posterity. It was really a fun show. Thanks Billy!

Thank you for this lovely tribute to Billy. We represented Billy for many years at the The Artists Group Ltd. which no longer exists on the West Coast to my understanding. I personally made his deals for "Willow" and "Tough Guys" the latter of which I remember fondly since his one scene with Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster was not written for a little person. I suggested him for that part and credit goes to Jane Jenkins for taking it to the director and making it happen. Jane is/was one of the classiest and talented casting people in the business, but I digress. Billy was a warm and wonderful human being and I will treasure my time with him on the "Willow" set in England. He was the perfect client and simply fun to be around. How nice that you put together this video to share with all of us. He was a unique talent and will long be remembered.

Some "Bride of Frankenstein" DVDs come with audio commentary -- the narrator mentions that apparently Billy's cameo was cut to appease the censors. As you point out, he's still visible from behind in that brief scene. Re: autograph show prices -- Gilbert Gottfried (on his podcast) interviewed someone who attended an autograph convention. Charlton Heston was charging only $15.00 per signature, but Ruth Buzzi was charging $40.00! Imagine getting two photos from Charlton and having $10.00 left over for what Ruth charged for one photo, lol. I have a photo signed in-person by Meinhardt Raabe and Margaret Pelligrini. I wanted to ask them if Garbo ever visited the set. Supposedly a little person playing a Munchkin was a Garbo lookalike and Garbo may have visited the set to see for herself. I never got the nerve to ask! I was worried they'd think I was going to try and ask them a "drunken orgy" question based on what Judy said to Jack Paar.

Lunch time came, myself and a coworker decided to relax on a bench which had an awning and sat just in front of a cafe. As we relaxed , out from the exit door came Billy Barty. He walked in front of us turned and said hi to me. I said hello and exclaimed, why you’re Billy Barty and said nice to meet you and shook his hand. I noticed he had a lotto ticket in his front pocket and I wished him good luck to win. He commented saying, you fellas deserve to win not me. Anyway, he moved on and I noticed he got in a full sized Lincoln sedan turned right out of the driveway and disappeared. I told my buddy I felt Mr Barty was such a nice and polite gentleman it was an honor to meet and chat with him.

I’d pay Priscilla to not write me an autograph. No one has ridden an ex-spouse’s coattails for so many decades. I know the approval rating on her is split probably 50/50. Just registering my vote.

You got my vote! Funny how the movie "Priscilla" was not allowed by EPE to use any Elvis music!! 😂😂😂 She ruined people's lives when she "took over" Graceland. TCB ⚡️

For many years, Billy would come up to Saskatchewan to take part in Telemiracle, a telethon to raise money for the Kinsmen. He was well loved in the province 🇨🇦
