The reason the troopers only hit his armor in the show is because veskar has a magnetism to it that pulls lasers to it instead of the intended target. That's why it's so rare and coveted. I love the video dude, keep it up!!!

The fact that it stopped a slug is pretty impressive honestly

Not really, in ballistics, general speaking, the faster projectiles will pierce better, while slower projectiles will smash. So, the 5.56 penetrated not because it was "more powerful" than the slug, but because it was faster. But of you look at the slug, it did smash everything and it looked to me like it broke a few welds also, not a good sign for the armor.

@@Lumadous they remade the armor and improved the design, the test served its purpose, plus the shape of that armor is probably not ideal, and it's made for looks and not functionality

@@markgaming919 Depends. Soft armor folds to almost any rifle munition. Ceramics have a lot less trouble with velocity than metallics poly folds to steel penetrators

I’m a bit late here but I love your work, and I wanted to say the testing portion really reminded me of Demolition Ranch. If you’re not familiar, he’s based in Texas and shoots all kinds of weird stuff, like chocolate pudding, elevator cable, and airplane glass. Little piece of trivia. Each piece of Mandalorian armor has a specific name in Mando'a. For instance, beskad and kal hal'cabure (left and right breastplates), Kar'ta beskar (chest diamond), and the Shar'tas (stomachplate).

It's pretty cheap, there's more labor costs than material. It's not that much steel, and steel isn't what they're spending most of their money. Even on something massive like the powerloader, steel isn't a main expense, all the hydraulics cost so much more.

When mandi was repairing his armour in season 1 there where electronics in it so I belive that they were some sort of magnetized system that pulled blaster bolts towards the armour

The Plackart covers the belly from the hips to the ribs, while the Breastplate covers well the breast, from ribs to shoulders, with some overlap to allow movement between the two.
