I was rooting for regular guy, but yeah; I was hoping the psychic would make a fool of herself. I'm sad that charlatans like that still have a means to continue scamming people. Buzzfeed just fed into it by bringing her on, and probably paid her. Even if they didn't, they just opened the gates for more 'customers' to find her 'services'. AKA more innocent people to get scammed by her. I would have rather seen PI v Regular guy v Person who likes psychedelics.

This resonates with me quite a bit. I've watched quite a few of the videos on BuzzFeed with this PI and, well, he's quite impressive. As he's pointed out a few times, quite a lot of the stuff he does for these videos has nothing to do with PI work, but he uses solid reasoning, note-taking, and questions to get valuable information. Which is massively entertaining and makes me *really* want him to get the wins. Especially against a psychic.

@@para-yw9dn that's how you do the drainage. The gravity helps with expeling the contents. Watch videos of it online. People usually sit in a chair or lie on their side when they have their cysts drained (see here: /watch?v=vz-dJ9UJmL8). He should have given her a local anesthetic, but that's it. It wasn't botched, it was litteraly standard procedure, and there was no adverse reaction.

The botched part is the fact the doctor gave no warning and didn’t inform/ask for permission about what he was going to do with her or her mom.

Except he hadn’t. He probably rehearsed it several times before being questioned, but he changed critical details of his story during the PI questioning.

Her story was a botched surgery because what she had needed to be treated surgically (like she would have had to be cut open to drain the cyst regardless) but the doctor committed malpractice by doing it there in the office making it botched and yes although absurd and illegal doctors commit malpractice like this all of the time

But it sounds like there’s parts of the story that she’s exaggerating or not remembering properly (it was 10 years ago). She made it sound like he just pulled out a scalpel and sliced her open with no conversation beforehand. There’s NO way that happened 😂

It might not be botched but it sounded traumatic. She was 15 and a doctor just went at her with a scalpel. No warning, no explaining what was going on, no local anesthesia. I had a phobia of doctors growing up and that's my nightmare.

Which is appropriate for a psychic, that's like their thing. What do you expect. She seems to be a psychic that helps people more emotionally, than an investigative psychic (that's just my impression). Psychics aren't always going to be 101% spot on, some are more spiritually developed than others. They take the information they get from energies or through spirit depending on which clair abilities they have or use, through their heightened senses and interpret them the best they can to us.

My guess is she’s used to telling this experience to others and has embellished some of the details. Particularly since she was young when it occurred. As we remember experiences, our mind is apt to exaggerate details that are traumatic to us, so likely it wasn’t exactly as she recalls it. But I also don’t doubt that this is how her mind is recalling it for her. Memories are a complicated thing.

@@megg6591 Bit of a late reaction, but simply cutting into someone without permission (at least, that is how it was told) is not something I call standard. Standard would be "hey we're going to do this and that. Do you consent to us cutting? Do you want some local numbing before we do this?" kind of thing. But nope, he grabbed the knife and cut in a non sterile environment. As a side note, Im purely going off based off what she said, and not going to judge whether it is true or not. If what she said was true, then I would not call in standard procedure.

"Surgery[a] is a medical specialty that uses operative manual and instrumental techniques on a person to investigate or treat a pathological condition such as a disease or injury, to help improve bodily function or appearance or to repair unwanted ruptured areas." (Wikipedia definition) He used his hands, he used a tool, he treated a condition. And he botched it. If Wikipedia is "not reliable enough", which is incorrect, the Collins Dictionary includes the aspect of cutting open the body to treat, which is also a check for her situation. A procedure is a way of doing things. Most if not all surgeries follow procedures. You don't inject the anesthetics after doing a cut, you do it before, so it's useful. That's a procedure. This is why most people aren't doctors (I'm not a doctor, I just looked up definitions just to make sure), especially on the internet.
