This is still one of my fave videos. Must have watched it 10 times. Anyhow, seeing how you boys are so keen on the metric system I find it fascinating that you use PSI (pounds/Sq inch) to measure pressure rather than pascals in your metric paradise.

Hey that's a good point. It's pretty interesting. I've grown up on metric but especially for some expressions it feels wrong to use it. Like "it's miles away" and "an inch away", or "inching closer". For pressure, I never even thought of looking for a metric equivalent; it's always been psi 🤔

Wheel rims are still measured in inches. A 9" diff is still a 9" diff. Tyre width is metric. Air compressors usually have both PSI and KPA because some tyres only have a PSI number. We generally measure snakes and crocodiles in feet also.

It exploded like that because it was hardwood. Hardwood can explode under pressure which is why its unsafe to use for blocking up a car when the tires are off etc. if you use a softwood you might get a different result

17:10 the scientific term for this is called the crumple zone and this is PURPOSELY DESIGNED that way so that the car crumples and wads up when in a collision to slow the impact that any passengers feel, making car accidents which used to be almost always fatal into something easily survivable without any injuries at all.
