Skip the sea pickles!! They are useless, I was using them for decoration and ambient low light but they are utterly useless!

If this isn't working for u here are some tips: 1. at 7:39 use the method on the big screen i was using the other method and it wasn't working for me 2. make sure really make sure you are 115 to 128 blocks above like he said at 10:16 it wasn't working until i went up that high 3. put more turtle eggs i don't know if this really helps but i noticed more drowned when i put 4 in compared to 1 4. suround it with kelp like he says at 13:16 this really helps Hope you found this useful and have a nice day : )

Using this on Vault Hunters, just a few notes if anyone recreating it 1) I had to put the eggs 1 block higher, the drowned weren't focusing on it at all. 2) When breaking the lower glass blocks from the middle out. Do as the tutorial says but when you get to the corners, make glass pillars in the actual corners up to the slabs. I have no idea if its interference from this mod pack or something but it constantly created infinite non flowing water when the last two blocks were broken. Additionally when I experimented leaving glass block 1 and 5 in tact, they'd flow in but wouldn't go into the funnel. With the glass pillars in the corner they went straight down. 3) If you're a plebian like me. Bring spare eggs

To people watching this video right now, this no longer works because drowned spawn at a light level of 0, not under 7. The only biome where this does not apply is the warm ocean (the area with coral).

Anyone building this design might notice the mopcap filling up. For this reason i recommend just putting a nether portal down there, then you'll start filling up the mobcap in the nether and drowned will keep spawning in the overworld, thus allowing you to stack hundreds of drowned in the nether. Instead of like 30 in the overworld

I needed this. I was in the end and playing around throwing my trident. I had loyalty on it so I thought it would come back. I then threw it into the void by accident, I thought it would come back, BUT IT ONLY COMES BACK ON BEDROCK, NOT JAVA!

I would put campfires at the hoppers that way you dont have to kill them and the items automatically go into the hopper.

This is a great clear tutorial, but it doesn’t seem to work without the sky base (which I don’t want to make Rn) but a fence at head level and blocks above and around feet level is pretty good, you know you got a trident drown when you get hurt

You Can also place firecamps to auto k'il them (but no looting 3) Or infinite tridents turning with pistons then you'll just have to take your looting 3 sword it's easy to make and it cost nothing. Just 4*4*2 place so it's very easy

I modified your design to fix the egg tracking. Placed in deep ocean near ocean ruins and found the perfect way to afk. I'm getting 6-9 drowns in 15 minutes. The problem is noone of them is holding anything.

You can also make a simple drowned farm with a zombie grinder. Just have a spot in the farm where the zombies drop into 3 blocks of water, causing them to drown. The hoppers that you put into the farm will pick up all of the armor that the zombies have, and at full durability too.

You made a jump cut over the step that is clearing out the room with gates for walls. *Other amendments that have been missed:* Place blocks in the corners where Chapman places the pickles or the water will not flow. If the water goes over the fences in the middle you’ve placed them too low down. The drowneds do go through the gates but not too frequently. It takes a lot of time. A session away from your keyboard is what this is designed for.

For best rate use a normal zombi farm but at the place to kill them juste place a block of water at the place of the head they will Transforme This is better rate of spawning and better Trident loot rate

Nice farm. I would not know what to do with so many 🔱 though... the ones I eventually find when I'm looking for nautilus shells I always throw them away. I would use this farm for shells actually. I have 5 hearts of the sea waiting to be conduits.

Thanks for the build! Minor frustration is that you didn't provide the right amount of items for the build. I needed more stairs and gates than you had specified. With a build like this being typically not close to your base, I had to make a lengthy trip to get more supplies to finish up. Also, another side note and not really an end-all be all, but you could refine the order of your build to help those in survival from having to do excess moving around (or breaking and replacing blocks to climb out of the pit) A good example is doing the fence gates in the middle of the farm above the collector before doing the collector work. Just a thought - Thanks again for the simple build! Compared to many other farms I've done lately this was pretty slick and quick.

Oh, you skipped the part about clearing water from the inside? Not that this is a difficult thing for most players, but you should at least make it a "step" if it's going to be needed to be done. It just kind of jump cuts past it in the video...

Could it be possible to have a tutorial for the afk area please? I built it and it looks like yours (at least i think) but Im not going over the ice block. i get stuck there... UPDATE: nevermind i figured out why i was not going over the ice. Deapth Strider III XD. I just had to take them off ;)) Now it works fine! yeah mobgriefing has to be set to true and you need the eggs to be above ocean level to attract them (java 1.16.1)

Oh guys I found out why this happens. It's because although drowned are indefinitely attracted to turtle eggs in bedrock, they are only attracted to the eggs within a 20 block radius around the eggs in Java.

@@seanlooloo6095 you can easily place villager there with nether portals, build a portal in the underworld ad move the villager thanks to minecarts. it's not at easy as the turtle eggs, but it's viable.

@@applemuseumm i think this is just an outdated farm, but i tried using my self as bait instead, and whenever i heard a trident zombie i just got out of my bait hole and killed it i actually got 2 tridents out of it

Or you could find a zombie spawner, funnel them into a 1 x 1 area. Once you have that, put a dispenser 1 block above their head and it converts them into drownds.

Chapman mate can u plz tell me why on earth the drowned dont spawn .. i even filled the caves with torches nothing can spawn went on spectator mode and made sure there are no caves .. but nothing still i am im a cold deep ocean and as well near a drowned village

is the ocean floor lit up? It needs to be below light level 7, and the altitude needs to be below Y=58.

Hey, I just built this farm, and no drowned are spawning. I’ve been afk for three hours and nothing. I’ve built the farm correctly, by underwater ruins, and with a perimeter of kelp to limit spawns, what’s going wrong?
