It's not. MR12 was always a shitty format. You want 2m30s round time too? Win the pistol rounds and you've basically won the game. Also, say goodbye to epic comebacks. Edit: It's called MR12/15, not 13/16. MR12 was pretty much the standard, until the MR15 format (spearheaded by "midway") got adopted in 2004 (CPL Winter). CS 1.5 came out in 2002, and 1.6 in 2003. The reasoning behind the change, was that with only MR12, the pistol rounds were way too important. Example: If you lost both pistol rounds, and one or both of the first max-buy rounds, it'd pretty much be over already because you'd be so far behind in the economy game. Also take into account luck and random bs rounds. MR15 counteracted this, with a larger sample size (rounds) to give a better indicater of who the best team was. Midway is a legend for all the work he did for the CS community.

Hard to admit, but I think my favourite era of counterstrike is over. I remember when csgo came out there were problems and broken promises (cross play never happened) but the game had SOUL, and a high budget trailer got people very hyped. Things are just not the same now, hopefully valve will drop a banger operation, but tbh we're probably just getting more dumb stuff like CT agents wearing scubadiving outfits.

@@Scythe1337 yea we used to go with some buddies right after school with our backpacks still on :D We used to always play along side one another and at first we just went for an hour or two, later we used to go and mess around neighborhood for few hours and then we came back for some more CS 1.6. It was extremely cheap back then. When our time was up we used to plan our next move. "Maybe one more hour?"- I asked a friend. "Wait here, I'll ask my grandma if she has some change". And we came back after a while for another hours of 1.6 :D I was the only of the few that has had a pc at home but I still prefered to go with mates to our Cafe. CS and Cafes and these carefree years... nostalgia.

I think that was done on purpose for the community. Valve is perfectly capable of building reliastic recoil and weapon feel, but they are dedicated to make this a continuum of the legacy. That means the skills aquired by millions of dedicated fans are not nullfied or have to be retrained, because they change the weapon recoil. I see the point, but from their point of view, their approach is also perfectly logical.

@@jarekcampbell4655 I am from Russia myself and I have many friends with whom I played cs:go now I can't play with them, someone didn't like cs2 and someone just wasn't interested due to the fact that cs2 has very few maps compared to CS GO in my case, my favorite maps disappeared and there were 50-60 percent fewer maps in cs-2, this is a trifle, but for me the interface I like CS GO and music a lot more
