This may have been one of the best rock-n-roll concerts of all time. Incredible performances one right after another.

Its September 2023, 38 years later, this song, still alive, still evergreen, top performance.

Golden era of the music. No dancing, no show on the stage, no drama, no light show, no nothing. Just six virtuous people playing on their instruments.

Mark is literally exploding with musical creativity. He barely plays any of the iconic licks from the record version. Instead he “simply” creates new ones, seemingly on the fly, and they are just as great. And what a great band he has behind him. They are all so into it, the energy is off the charts!

There's something about Knopfler. Every fan of every genre pretty much universally recognises his brilliance.

The 70s and 80s was a blast to live during that time

One of the greatest live performances by any band, at any time. And this track - beyond sublime!! I can just imagine Mark saying to the band "come on lads, lets give them the best performance they will ever see in their lives"

It's fun to watch and listen to music before than today's generations of musicians.

People say that the best version of SOS is Alchemy but the choice is very, very difficult. Live in '79. Alchemy, Wembley Arena 85, Basel 92, Nimes 92 and other versions from OES tour with great MK's improvisations and extrabit on the final solo and so on. Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits always played in different ways, added new music parts, new arrangement, new instruments, new musicians and Mark Knopfler improvised his solos every time, in every gigs with different guitars (Strato, Schecter, Pensa Suhr MK1). Dire Straits are wonderful and pure musicians in a league of their own.
