Speaker wiring note: All speakers have a resistance, called Ohm. If a speaker has 8ohms, and you wire 6 of them up in series, the resistance will be 48ohms (6 x 8 = 48), which is too much for an amplifier. Wiring them in parallel results in 1.4Ohms (8 / 6 = 1.333) which is too little for the amplifier. So, what I did was divide the 6 speakers into 3 sets of 2, and wire each set of 2 together in series for 16ohm. I then connected these 3 16ohm sets in parallel to result in an overall resistance of 5.4Ohms, which should be within a typical expected range for an amplifier (4 to 8 ohms).

@ouroboros_on_the_orange
@ouroboros_on_the_orange 4 роки тому
@@mochixplants you don't need water if you had a heater. Mirror gets fogy because the heat difference. Steam is hot, and mirror cold. When steam comes in touch with the mirror it cools and fogs it up...if you had a small heater to warm up the mirror you wouldn't need any water to start with. Point given is that alternatively you could use a hairdryer on the mirror after you shower. It will dissipate the mist of the mirror so you can use it.
@mochixplants
@mochixplants 4 роки тому
@@ouroboros_on_the_orange seems like a bit of a difficult build to find any air heaters remotely small, all the heaters i've ever seen wouldn't fit inside the mirror not to mention the noise of the fan would be annoying.

@ouroboros_on_the_orange 4 роки тому
@@mochixplants You could make it with a cooper wire and an energy transformer similar to one being used for LED lights...and you could get few small lower rpm fans that make low noise...It is more complicated than his solution but I belive it is better in the long run. @@abdulazeez.98 I tore down some LVDS panels and they have step up drivers on TCON board for the backlight LEDs. I think they can work off 5V. Best idea so far! These videos are a constant inspiration for lots of people. Here's a recommendation: include a rough price estimate for what these would cost to build. I know it's pretty difficult to determine, but maybe you could produce a simple chart including the materials for the project with estimated prices, and builders with several of those materials laying around could subtract that price. Just a thought. Great video as always.

In all countries there are plugs in the bathrooms. After all, you have lights in there, people use them to power up fans, or shave or whatever. Not just the US. DIY perks is just implying that if you fk something up, given your diy skills, you wont be shocked with 110 or 220 volts and die on the spot. Worst that can happen is ull burn a board or two.

Yes, you managed to get it done, now, you see that more than an overall knowledge is necessary, also the tools, 3d printer and all the gear to make it so. Francisco Iniguez said it better than me, usually, the person who DO this type of things have all the resources at hand. That laptop screen adapter on the other hand is a really nice tip to have at hand when a screen for a project is required, but it lacks of one of the main functions of the smart mirror, that it has to be touchscreen and independent, if there's a lot of preparation to be done to get the thing running before you start shaving, then is easier to get the laptop into the bathroom and play wherever on it, don't get me wrong, theres a lot of good and valuable information and tips on your video (the type of paint, the usb 3.0 adapter, using a bank as a source) and also is really enjoyable to watch, but it may be missing the main point of the practicality of having a smart screen as a mirror on the bathroom
