Do you think pain killers are helping you or making it worse. I had been prescribed 26 years of my 34 years on this earth and after about year 20 it feels like I’m going to actually die the feeling of sick and not just having no energy but being nauseous and not wanting the next dose even after you take it there is no getting better sometimes it takes over a two hours to get this feeling away and from the seconds I spend trying to get out of bed to the time I get to the hospital and after I get home still feeling sick sweating and nauseous not able to keep the water down in my stomach is just awful

Now because of Phillip Eil there is more suffering over injuries than ever before in history. Phil, I hope to God that you pay a high price for your ungodly book. If you want to write a book why don't you write a book where millions of people are suffering now more than ever thanks to your satanic book. Watch yourself, Phil. Don't climb any ladders or get hit by a driver causing massive injury to your body because after your awful book millions of people who just need the opioids for just a week will only receive Tylenol for their pain. It's so infuriating because the people who truly need the care, get treated like a junkie for needing pain medication to function. I agree certain rules should apply but they have made things so strict that doctors don't want to advocate for people in daily pain. So sad. Also, "people look young" so they can't have chronic pain?? What about people being born with something wrong. And after time the medication does have to be increased but that goes with alot of medications. What is alot to some might be appropriate for others because of their tolerance.

There needs to be a way to differentiate between a pill mill and a doc who is prescribing for chronic, debilitating pain. They went after pharmacies - whose pharmacists were filling legit scripts written by legit docs. They nailed some docs who were walking on the immoral side of writing scripts indiscriminately. I know more than a couple of people who would rather eat a g*n than live with their level of pain. It's a needed med, but docs won't write it - and even if they write it, finding a pharmacy to fill it is damn near impossible. One extreme to the other.

I worked in the Chronic Pain office inside a hospital. When someone is told there is no treatment available to ease their pain it's heartbreaking. I'm talking about people who suffer from debilitating injuries such as car crashes, sports injuries, diseases, nerve conditions. There were so many cases. One was a child who was hit by a drunk driver. Her back and pelvis were broken. I totally understand why people search for anything to ease pain. When your physical pain is eased, with or without drugs, the stress on the body and mind decreases. When you are told there is nothing modern medicine can do it breaks the spirit. The choices you have are few. The stress of your mind and body are amplified exponentially. Desperation can grab you and take over your life. Some patients even ended it themselves. Please let's show compassion for the victims of opiates. Then let's throw all of the pill pushers, including the billionaires, in prison (for starters).

GP said that does nothing for someone with chronic pain. It makes as much sense as sending an asthmatic to a sports medicine doctor (no relation whatsoever! And it is true. My GP was moved out of state (which shocked me but after watching this, not shocked at all). I am going through all the BS with a pain management doctor. He is sweet but hasn't help my pain AT ALL. Today is a BAD day. Can hardly walk because of the pain. When it gets real bad I end up throwing up because it is so bad. Doctors are scared to prescribe anything stronger than 5 mg of oxycodone. Yes they need the crack down on the Doctors and Dentist doing unnecessary procedures just to get wealthy such as back surgeries and extracting teeth to do bridges and such then give 2 weeks of pills because they can but people go home and abuse the pills or mix them. Some people get addicted because of back surgeries and need the meds for a month but really did not need the surgery or dental work in the first place. Always get THREE opinions on any procedure without letting them know you saw another Doctor or Dentist. Some surgeries are not needed.

The OD problem wasn't the opiates. It was when you mix Oxy and soma. That's exactly how people died in Texas who went to pill mills. I was one of them who was addicted. Lost a few "acquainted" friends and when I asked I was told it was the combo. I ruined my life. But 9 yrs clean now.

Glad you got clean and have no chronic pain. Yes it is most important for the time, the mixing of pain meds with booze, or benzodiazepines or even meth etc… never MIX!! If one takes a pain killer they that person cannot take a cocktail and a muscle relaxer!!

They can get the meds for the surgery but they cannot keep getting the pain medication forever. Best to get 3 opinions on your surgery and not just trust a single Surgeon. If you do get the surgery & medication do not abuse it or mix it and know that it is not forever that you will be getting it no matter the outcome of your surgery.

I was victimized by both doctors and now labeled a pill seeking drug addict when I even mention my legitimate pain and was even denied antibiotics for a infection in my breast because they heard the word pain and immediately shut me down for getting any care

Youre definitely right about the system being part of the problem. I believe the bureaucracy is the culprit. it seems the problem is tossed around back and forth within the medical establishment for years before it even gets outside to people who own the place or run it, then they hesitate before LE gets it. also, as dude said these cases are tough to prosecute so now a good investigation needs more time. Employees/parties should be able to cut out some while notifying everyone that should be concerned. A simpler problem is assuming medical places are all out to do good.

There was a “doctor” in southeastern GA, in the early 2000’s who was Rx so many and several of his patients also passed away. I believe that he, too was prosecuted; although, I can’t remember the details. I want to say his name was Green or Greene but not sure
@arcticcat7142
@arcticcat7142 Місяць тому
Yes, Dr. Spurgeon Green! He was the first one I recall being charged in a murder, when David Barbari passed away. Another one of his patients passed away shortly after. I always felt something wrong about him, based on the people who sang his praises, including the two aforementioned people. I was living in Wayne County, GA at the time. I later worked with a gal in AK who went to “pain management”. I should say I worked while she sat in her car smoking and I did the work while she drew a paycheck. I also suspected that was an excuse for her to always be high and her “doctor” wasn’t on the up and up. That, “Dr” was also later arrested. These scenarios are the reasons I refused to go to pain management for years!

It's really scary to think that trusting doctors can sometimes feel like taking a chance. The problem with pain pills is serious-it seems like they're often seen as a quick solution without thinking about the future consequences. It's super important for doctors to think carefully about both the good and bad sides of any medication they prescribe, especially when it's something as strong as painkillers. Patients should feel sure that their doctors genuinely care about them and are looking out for their overall health.

You're absolutely right. Trusting doctors should never feel like a gamble, yet the opioid crisis has highlighted the dangers of overprescription and the need for careful consideration of the long-term consequences of medications, especially powerful ones like painkillers. It's crucial for doctors to prioritize their patients' overall health and well-being, weighing the benefits and risks of any treatment they prescribe. Patients deserve to feel confident that their doctors are acting in their best interests and considering all aspects of their care. Thank you for emphasizing this important point. 🩺

And those DEA quotas have been kept low for Adderall, causing a national shortage that is still not resolved several years later. And and, the opod criss has been made worse and more fatal by the stop and start government oversight and lack of education or desire of doctors to manage pain, prescriptions, and weaning off drugs, causing people who are cut off by their doctors to start taking heroin and getting unintentional fentanyl.
