Doubt strategy is weird. Any chest that doesn't share a color with any other is for sure honest, but not necessarily safe to open. Mainly my strategy is to look for chests of the same color that contradict each other (if chests of different colors contradict each other it means very little), and then brute force calculate the possibilities. Imagine how tough that would be in a bigger board.
My shopping strategy is to just buy candy then try to buy health potions near the end. Sometimes I regret not buying a blue crystal. I don't like using a blue crystal to reveal one chest, but if it reveals 2 then it's totally worth it. And I have no idea if and when I should be buying repair items.
My upgrade strategy was to mainly focus on increasing EXP gained (starting health and gear upgrades don't feel very impactful), and in this game I barely survive to floor 10 after opening all chests and getting bailed out by my weird medicine. There were also some games I played where I didn't survive the early game, so I should get some more early game upgrades before I save up for the next big EXP upgrade.
