This guy's entire countenance is screaming "BELIEVABLE" I don't know any other way to say it. There's absolutely no doubt he believes what he's saying to the interviewer.

Had one "scream" at me when I was a kid living east of Port Angeles about 80 miles from La Push. That was in about 1976.

One of the best interviews. So detailed and coming from a law enforcement officer on the observation factor means a lot. Law enforcement officials are trained in the art of observation. I listen to interviews from Rich whenever I can. There are a lot of fakes out there but I totally believe this story. I wish I could have been there to see it too.

Having lived and worked in that area it is easy to believe that there could be sasquatch living all around and you'd never be able to track or find 'em. We over-estimate our human capacity to be in charge of what is around us when we're in really wild land like the dense forests of the western Olympics especially.

Same thing happened to me and my son. It came out of the woods on the right hand side of the road and crossed in front of us and went into the woods on the left side of the road. It didn't look at us either and I am grateful for that because the nightmares that I had afterward would have been worse and lasted longer. This happened in August of 1991, my son was going into 12th grade in September. I haven't had a nightmare in several years now. The one we saw was huge with long brownish reddish hair all over the body. What I remember most is long arms with 4 inch hair waving as the arms moved and the tree thick thighs...we saw him first coming out of the woods, my son said, "What the "H" is that?" I was completely mute and couldn't answer him.... we were quite a distance away at that time but I had been going at least 45 mph and let off the gas searching for the brights on the floorboard forgetting that I had hubby's car and not mine...therefore we saw him up close as he crossed in front of us but never saw the feet. I can't even say I saw hands as I was mesmerized by those long arms and thighs. We reported it and someone came out and checked the area. No prints were found. Ohio, Geneva on the Lake area.

I wish he would have continued research. Here's a level headed guy that has some sense and he's believable and he is professional about it and I've never heard the guy bad mouth anyone else

What he said about feeling betrayed is so spot on. Why is no one telling us? What are they hiding? Millions of people go camping and or hiking or whatever and many are children. They should know there's a risk of coming upon a bigfoot. But the cat's out of the bag now. I had almost a similar experience in New Hampshire I was fly fishing found a spot maybe two miles in and I started smelling a large animal but nothing like I ever and something told me not to be there and that I should leave I got this insane feeling and ran the hell out

Nice guy, very believable, very credible, I hope he makes Sheriff some day. Yes it's a mystery isn't it. What bothers me most are two things: as a Christian I was always taught that we were created in God's image and therefore have certain characteristics in our personality and psychological makeup that is derived from our divine creator - love, empathy, mercy, some sense of virtue and morality, the ability to articulate and conceptualize thought in a language, self awareness of an inner consciousness, I could continue (all this having been tainted by the assumption - if we accept the 'Genesis Account' that we severed our relationship with our creator because we wanted to do thing our way) - none the less, us having a 'human face' doesn't mean God has a human face because according to those ancient texts 'God is Spirit', if one accepts the 4 Gospels as 'authoritative', then when Christ said 'if you have seen me you have seen the Father (God)", that presumes that Christ was the embodiment of God. Man was made an upright walking creature (bipedal), that thinks, communicates, has feelings etc. I had always assumed that we are distinct from animals in some very definite ways; now what we have here is the discovery of a creature that probably dates back to time immemorial which in some cases shows some very human features and apparently has a language. The reason there are so many sightings is because we have invaded almost every square mile of allotted space on this planet, so finally we stumble across something that the ancient cultures in this hemisphere have spoken of for centuries. It is much more powerful than us and could if it wanted to, cause immense destruction and death especially if it's food source dries up. The whole thing just doesn't fit my original 'world view'! I really struggle with it! Some say it's an off shoot of the Nephilim of Genisis 6 (The offspring hybrid of angelic and human contact) but angels don't have the need to procreate; in their realm there is no pearing off and proliferation as in our carbon based existence. Angels are sexless (unless I've got this all wrong). Anyway, it's one of life's real annoying mysteries for me; the other one is how can one claim that God is "sovereign" and accept the gut wrenching tragedy of the things history has shown in the countless innocent lives that have been lost. (I am the son of a Holocaust survivor) and have seen first hand how two lives were severely damaged by War. Is there human DNA in Sasquatch? Apparently...yes. So to look human (as many accounts testify to) shouldn't be confused in assuming he's 'your great, great uncle or something like that. Some eyewitness accounts have noticed that there is understanding and facial expressions which indicate an emotional reaction or understanding that is very "human". Anyway, I'm rambling on here. The Forestry Dept. and I assume Law Enforcement is aware of it and so far no Sasquatch have been arrested for J-walking.

Rich is very articulate in his presentation during every recounting of his experience. Couple that with his exemplary observation skills and the credibility earned working in law enforcement and the guy can't be anything other than believable. I have to say that if I had his experience with this phenomenon that I would continue with the search for undeniable proof and irrefutable evidence that they exist. Why you ask? Because he states more than once there were never any threats of harm to him during his esoteric experiences with what he believes are messages from the Sasquatch themselves.

Wow. I know this is true. I live in La Push and when I was a teenager me and two friends were walking by the same exact area and heard the weirdest howl ever. The three of us took off running. I had a broken toe and I remember hearing the metal toe brace hitting the pavement. Never was so scared in all my life.

In the early 90s we would van and tent camp out there to go surfing at La Push. Erie but nothing. In WW2 my dad was stationed there and had to patrol the coastline to the north of La Push. He had a German Shepard, He could hear Japanese subs at night recharging their batteries, holding the dog quiet. Sasquatch no mention.

Hi , I'm trying to find Rich tell his experience of seeing a big one (one of his first experiences?). If I remember it correctly , he'd been jogging on the 2nd Beach trail before his morning shift as a cop in La Push . He was at the place on the trail that switches back at a pretty sharp turn when he saw it . It's like this story where he shows up at the cop shop after his sighting and gets teased by other cops ... But I could've sworn that he'd seen it while on the trail , not driving . Did I make this story up in my imagination ???

Look at the Abair road sighting in Whitehall NY by two policeman. I used to hunt there alone for years. Then something weird happened and I stopped hunting alone. Also one caught on dash cam by a deputy and seen also by his passenger by me. All in North Georgia Mountains region. Now they are all over by me. Literally up to my house.

I have been in this exact scenario as far as the feelings and sensory overload being experienced in this incident and it stopped way short of what transpired here. Ofcourse I will never know but in a way I'm glad it happened that way. The sound of aggravation that was mentioned may be something not heard by those that would be a subject in an episode of Missing 411. Subtle warnings and sounds may have been just enough to display that they would let one walk today. What was an eerie moment could have been a worse moment, or not. Theres no way of knowing just yet or is there?

two friends from Taholah and i were on the Quinault beach and both friends werent near me but I could see them. we were looking for seaglass. then we all met up quickly and I said were you guys throwing rocks at me. they said no. all three of us knew it was time to get off the beach and sasquatch and his family were telling us its time for us to go... never crawled so fast up the eroded beachwall and ran to my car

The following summer Rich and friend/OP co-member “shaky,” managed to accomplish that in the Hamma Hamma drainage of the Olympic Mountains when a sasquatch walked in-front/around one of the game cameras and was thankfully able to verify it via DNA evidence. Ok we're making them known but ultimately we will kill them off as dangerous animals but there not really if you do nothing to provoke them like all other predators. They have saved and cared for people in the past and need our help and support not our destructive ways.
