Going through the graphic novels right now... And I have to say that they did an amazing job adapting it. It's not an easy task bringing that breadth of storytelling and vision to live-action. Looking forward to more episodes.

@@thealterist9762Butchered how exactly? Neil Gaiman himself was a producer! As I see it this gave Neil the opportunity to tell his story in an innovative way while keeping close to the source material. As an artist I know how it is to look behind and see places where you had done things differently in an artwork if you had the opportunity.

HARD PASS until they fix Death. Ridiculous how they disrespect Cinamon Hadley who was the inspiration for what became so iconic was so easily brushed to the side in favor of...you know, ESG scores. Sickening.

This show inspired me to get all 5 Deluxe Editions of the comics and not only do I love the show but I’m almost finished Volume 1 and I love that as well.

I read the series in the 90s and always hoped a movie would be made some day. But there are so many good stories that I realize the best way to portray the Sandman saga is in fact a series. I have to say, I loved season 1. I thought it was awesome. I hope they do Nada's story and "Ramadan" in season 2. I would also like to see "Season of the Mists".

I love how they're doing this. It really is a great promo tactic. Keeping everyone wondering like this, doing something no one's done before. Could they just be calling it more chapters? Books? Whatever it is, I'm super excited to get more of Sandman. There's so much to cover and I am completely in love with all the characters and this entire universe.

I think a lot of it will depend on how much patience the creators consider the audience to have, a fair few of the one shot stories don't pay off in the overall arc till much later, and the snipping all the Super folks and references means we may not get Façade, which is a shame as its one of my fav's

I haven’t gotten the chance of watching the first season. The Sandman lore I’m not familiar with but I need to watch it here soon. But though it makes me wonder if Gunn will include The Sandman lore into the future of DCU.

The only thing I didn't like about the first season was the cat episode. It was kinda way to far off from the story. I don't mind having multiple stories but I hope it stays conmected to the sandman.

Nope, That story is not connected with anything else, and for the old fans of the comic book was the best episode ever cause it was a perfect page-to-page adaptation while the rest of the episodes had some changes here and there that confused (as expected)those that know the books by heart

I am cautiously optimistic, the season was mostly good but that 2nd half kinda fell off for me a bit... but still better than a lot of other shows in the similar genre. Just loved The Corinthian's presence.

I felt that too.. but I think if they can break it down into parts more closely resembling the original volumes and release them separately it would work better

@@mukulseth I am not familiar with the original source material, this show is my first exposure to it all properly so I have to trust they will do whatever works not just for adaptation, but for something that is unique, creatively and narratively satisfying for TV consumption too

Hate the fact they gender swapped Constantine but episode 3 was my favorite, huge fan of the JOHN Constantine story.. I’ll be waiting on season 2 but with caution, gender politics have taken over Hollywood so I’m a little worried about season 2..

Neil has addressed the gender swapping issue shortly after the release of the first season. The actors were best suited to play the characters. Gender has nothing to do with it.
