Something I thought of, if Cornelius was a real prospector he would have come much better prepared than that half baked sled he had. But if he were the lost child as you say, it would only make sense why he knew to make a sled that functioned like Santa's and that it would look as if a child had made it.

I'm always kind of floored by how plausible these theories are. I always start thinking "yeah okay fat chance. But hey, Matpat's entertaining, let's watch" and end thinking "that is without a shadow of a doubt the way the authors intended."

Christmas for me this year of being 12 and having a phone went like this • Getting annoyed that my mom got a schedule for Christmas movie • Worry about being forced to go Christmas shopping • Eating both homemade and store-bought cookies • Still hating my sister, even during Christmas • Keeping my 3 year old sister away from our elf • Considering renaming our elf (her name’s Princess) • Opening presents but still wanting to use my phone because I’m the worst! Christmas was more fun for me when I was younger sadly

Fun fact: In countries where portuguese is spoken, Santa's localized name has "Dad" or "Father" in his name. For example, in Portugal he's called "Pai Natal" which means literally "Father Christmas". Thought it would be fitting for the video

Red hair can be a dormant gene for several generations before resurfacing on someone, so Yukon could just as likely be anyone's son. Also that kid at the end is totally a girl, look at the hair style.

I have a major issue with this theory. Santa can supposedly see every child in the world and judges their behavior. Unless there's specific rules we don't know about, I can't think of a single reason he couldn't hunt down his own son that's been missing for decades

You glossed over it, but I can’t let it slide. The only town for miles around in ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ is Sombertowm. Kris was abandoned as a baby on the Burgermeisters doorstep. The only other red head in the entire town is Miss Jessica, who becomes Mrs. Claus. Now. The odds that these two are not related is nigh impossible, given the isolation of Sombertown and complete lack of other red-heads. The level of relation is what’s troubling. Cousins, almost certainly. Sister, maybe. But here’s the kicker: we do not know how old Jessica is. But Kris is somewhere around 20. If Jessica was, I don’t know, 35. She could have had an unwanted baby at age 15 (when abortion didn’t even exist) and abandoned said baby because she was too young to care for it. Leaving only his name ‘Claus’ (a first name, not a last) for the Burgermeister to identify him. We see in subsequent movies that Mrs. Claus is actually older than Mr. Claus in several ways. Her skin is wrinkled, her back is arching. Mr. Claus still seems younger by several years, with no wrinkles and only the beginning of aches. Given this information, it’s entirely, creepily possible that Mrs. Claus is Santa Claus’s estranged birth mother. Cogitate on THAT.
