Wow, watching this video after the main story has finished, and hearing MatPat say that there's "nothing supernatural" going on is wild. No spoilers, but there's A LOT more going on than just the mayor's missing cat.

Do you know what's funny, the newest update which came out like 2020-2022 I think, completely cancels out that you're the villain because in the ending by some ancient civilization magic you actually prevent the volcano from erupting therefore proving that you are the hero, also if you're curious yeah he we got the missing cat showed in the ending

I could prove the first claim about the ash existing before the volcano erupts wrong. See, there’s a setting that allows you to see the dirt type that you’re cleaning. For example: Rust, dust, bubble gum, etc… I have never seen ash in that UI. Also, as far as I know, the volcano doesn’t erupt until 2066. Edit: Chips Ahoy.

Hey Matpat so there’s this game series called “The Room”. It’s a mystery/puzzle game with 5 games in the franchise and an impossible lore because it’s all very cryptic. You have no idea who you are or why your doing this stuff that “someone” is telling you to do. If you could do a theory on this then that would mean the world to me and a lot of other people. Matpat there is some deep lore behind this game series ‘The Room’, the game series starts with you in a room with a big vault, from here you dive deeper into mysterious puzzles without ever knowing who you are or who the man behind the letters is.
