The modern tank was born at the time of the First World War. The British used the rolling steel combat vehicles for the first time against German troops. Then the Germans develop the “A7V” - and in the Second World War “Panther” and “Tiger”. Ferdinand Porsche was also involved with the “Maus” in the construction of tanks during National Socialism. The documentation gives a chronological insight into the production and technology of German tanks, up to the latest models of the Bundeswehr.

I SEE THE LEPEARD TANKS SENT TO UKRAINE ARE NOTHING BUT A HEAP OF ASH IN THE GROUND.
@jhngfdsdfgkjnbv
@jhngfdsdfgkjnbv 3 місяці тому
of the 18 Leopard 2A6 transferred to Ukraine, almost all are not combat-ready: there are those damaged in battle, there are (and quite a few) those for which there are simply no spare parts at the repair plant in Lithuania, or they were broken by Ukrainian mechanics in an attempt to repair the cars at home. At that time, a German delegation came to inspect this Lithuanian enterprise. Later, an addendum to the Leopard story appeared in Der Spiegel. Yes, spare parts are still in short supply in Lithuania, but more specific indications of breakdowns are interesting here. Firstly, there is a weakness of the tracks, which quickly lose tension. Secondly, cars wear out after tens of thousands of kilometers: journalists quote a German officer who participated in a military mission in Mali. And this is all against the background of the complexity of repairs, which need to be carried out only at the factory, and not quickly by rembat forces in the near rear. There was also a story dedicated to Leopard on the official TV channel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It compares the German Leopard 2A6 and the Swedish Strv 122A - a licensed copy of the Leopard 2A5, which in fact is not identical to its German counterpart. So, the Ukrainian tanker notes maneuverability and reverse gear among the advantages. Another colleague noted the spacious combat compartment. But there are more disadvantages listed. Firstly, it is a weak side armor. Secondly, the weak tracks and the "freeway" of the German are mentioned again. This tank, as it turned out, is afraid of dirt, which is abundant in Ukraine. However, Ukrainians stipulate that the Swedish version is more convenient to operate, better adapted to the climate and generally a "hard worker", and German cars are so difficult to repair that they even require different oils for different parts, which is especially "pleasing" to logisticians, whose tasks include finding and delivering consumables to the front line. If you look at it as a whole, then in front of our T-72B3, T-80BVM and T-90M Leopard 2 have an advantage only in maneuverability and reverse gear. The more massive, but also older Leopard 2A4 in the fire control system and optics up to thermal imagers turned out to be worse than Russian tanks, and the Leopard 2A6, as it turned out, are approximately equal. At the same time, the "German" is much more convenient as a target because of its huge size, and the operator of the "Cornet" or ATGM "Whirlwind" on the Ka-52, the difference in size and "style" of the tower with Soviet tanks is very striking. For the first time, the booking features of the Leopard 2A4 appeared in Syria, where Turkish Leopards of this type were burned by Kurdish ATGM operators in 2016. On its own, there are many times more threats to these tanks: This includes artillery, attack helicopters, and much more. Simply put, a tank does not live in the conditions of the battlefield on which it has to fight. There is not even dynamic protection, although Ukrainians sometimes hang the Soviet "Contact-1". Its armament is another controversial parameter. When it is necessary to fire a large number of land mines, the Leopard ammunition is slightly less than completely anti-tank, which narrows the field for its use to a minimum.

@Proud Indian They really aren´t that complex and expensive, there´s a reason why 19 countries chose to buy the Leopard 2 in various models throughoutt the years. Something Soviet or Russian is going to be cheaper and less complex but arguably less quality and less protected
@leandro9311
@leandro9311 3 роки тому
@Proud Indian In your order, the T-34 superiority in WWII is a myth, the earlier models where so unreliable the crews would strap a spare transmission on top of the engine bay when thers broke down, the optics where so bad gunners needed as much as double the ammunition to hit any target at distance compared to any other British American or German tank, the armor although sloped and eficient was made with low quality steel and etheir the forge was deficient or the welding poorly done meaning it crack or chipped if hit by high velocity rounds. The T-34 only started to be a rather good tank with the 85 model being produced in January 1944 and even then the high profile and exposed turret ring where obvious weaknesses. Now, Russia tanks not always used auto-loaders, only after the T-64 they did, the same for laser range-finders as they where only fitted in later models of even the T-80 wich only received a laser range-finder 2 years after being introduced at a time where NATO tanks where already having them from factory since the early 70´s. In regards to the Leopard 2 being better than the Armata or even obsolete i don´t know who said that because it certainly wasn´t me. But IF the Leopard 2 was better than the T-14 Armata, German wouldn´t start development of the Leopard 3, is as simple as that, Russia has reached a point where they have catched NATO tank development and as such the NATO tank development countries like Germany are starting the development of news tanks but even then the Leopard 2 in the A7 model is still not obsolete specialy with the continous development of ammunition wich Russia as also just catched by introducing long rod APFSDS ammunition as standard across the tank force while NATO haves those long rods since the 80´s and early 90´s as standard i must say

Germans are wonderful when it comes to harnessing and teaching production engineering and manufacturing concepts, models, complex dynamical systems, and theories. The industrial creativity and innovation, and product development in some areas are second to none. No wonder the German living standards rose so quickly after WW2 because they diverted all energies, into positive areas, giving them a global comparative advantage and a business edge, in designing, all kinds of finished capital, and intermediate goods. That helped to lift the PPF Production Possibility Frontier as we study Economics.

I even have newspaper clipping of Hitler arresting Rothcild, his banks being seized and shutting down the Freemason lodges in Germany and most of Europe. The international debt based currency system was replaced with the Reichsmark. The value of their currency thru national socialism was put on the labor of the Germany workers who got paid, free housing, healthcare and others. In the history of governments, Germany was the only nation to get Socialism right. From 1933 to 1939 Gemany was thriving. So much that Time magazine put Hitler on the cover as "man of the year".....twice.....keep digging..you might find the truth if you know where to look. Like the national archives.

@dschoas
@dschoas 3 роки тому
The treaty of Versailles was produced without the Germans to discuss the paragraphs. when it was presented for signature, Germany refused because of the conditions put there as well as the claim, that Germany was solely responsible for the war. Signature was only done because the resumption of war was threatened, where Germany ghad already surendered its weaponry and would not have been able to fight. Despite the versailles treaty definition, only germany reduces its army and meterial, all other signatory nations did not do so, USA and UK even increased their marine and airforce. I did have to chuckle when I was learning tank history and I saw the British, despite being the pioneers of the tank, completely devalued it and essentially handed the manual to Guderian. I can't remember if it was Hart, names escape me, but Guderian gives thanks in his book "Achtung, Panzer!", explicitly acknowledging that the core of the blitzkrieg was developed from a British idea.
