I actually disagree with that! Canonically, Mary isn’t really accomplished at all… She plays quite ill (which is made especially obvious in the BBC serie), is considered completely devoid off any charm and is very convinced of her own self importance (always preaching to people whilst being very lacking herself.) Being a talentless and ugly phony isn’t my vibe and, although I’m awkward, I wouldn’t like to never speak to anyone like Mary does. If I were to be a Jane Austen character, I hope it would be Emma !

"I've never been able to visualize faces" big same! I also have autism and as a side-effect something called prosopagnosia. It's when your facial recognition is right fucked. If one of my friends gets a haircut and puts on some makeup I straight up can't recognize them. It's a part of autism a lot of people just don't talk about

!!! i thought it was a side-effect of not looking people in the face! i do the "eye hover" thing and glance at eyebrows to give the illusion of eye contact & SURPRISE will completely fail to recognise someone if they change outfits. i rely on outfit silhouette to identify people - it makes me great at guessing their stylistic opinions correctly but it also means that, out of context, i have no idea which names belong to which faces & thus avoid using people's actual names. YOU GET A NICKNAME! YOU GET A NICKNAME! EVERYONE GETS A NICKNAME!
