@---cr8nw
@---cr8nw 3 роки тому
@@donsallee5941, they couldn't if they wanted to. Safety features like airbags and seat belts and backup cameras are required by law. They also have to pass rigorous testing, making R&D fairly expensive. And some things aren't worth backtracking on. 35 years ago, it was cheaper to install window cranks than to install window regulators and motors. Now, it would cost about the same to go back to manual crank windows. I'd love to see car companies focus on budget models. But I think they'll always look like the Chevy Spark or the Mitsubishi Mirage or the Nissan Sentra. $15,000 - $17,000. At two thirds the price of a decent looking car, you might as well splurge.

I dad actually started school at a community college learning how to work on Fords back in the 1960’s. Although he always had his hands on experience with every car he ever had. That is correct Henry Ford was related to Thomas Edison they were cousins. and and he and Edison, and Kingsford, an employee of Ford's. and other people like Teddy Roosevelt, and even other's that were his competitors like Ransom Olds. the founder of Oldsmobile, would go out to the woods on camping trips. and would use specially equipped model Ts that chuck wagon set ups on them. and would camp and BBQ I guess it's called grilling today. it was a very popular pastime back in them days. and the brickets so to speak came from the iron foundry that was part of the Ford Motor Company. so I guess you could say that Henry Ford was the father of camping and BBQing.

Why the Mustang was so special, and was the reason the military chose the name and Ford also did. was that the name meant a horse or horse's. that were undemesticated, running in the wild, free, strong, and fast. a real symbol of strength it was an obvious choice.

Scotty, my 2013 Ford Mustang has NEVER needed a single repair. I have had to replace the tires and battery, do oil changes and filter changes and tire rotations. My BMW 3-series, my Chevy Blazer and my Hyundai Velostar (worst. car. ever.) practically needed at least one repair every six months (from buying NEW!). This V6 Ford Mustang has made me very happy. Even though it only had a 3 year warranty, I never needed it. My Hyundai had a 10 year warranty - because it needs it! So, when its' time to buy a new car, which manufacturer you think I'm going to pick next?

R J yes I understand that I was also a Ford factory trained technician and a diesel technician in Houston Texas for many years and I am still in the industry. Most of the vehicles I see in the service department are not in for regular service There is a separate part of most shops for maintenance and most have a designated quick lube section as well. What I see most recently are turbo failures left and right on all ecoboost engines, transmission issues, evaporators leaking, overheating issues and a ton of sunroof failure on all the trucks (very expensive) and a ton of diesel issues on the three quarter and one ton trucks. That doesn’t even include the broken spark plugs in the older 3 valve engines and the cam phaser issues. But being a tech I know how to do all these repairs Like I mentioned earlier out of all domestics I would still pick a Ford

Dealer and service network in rural America. Even though you typically only get a year warranty, there are a lot of people that only trust the dealer based service department. Major cities have lots of brand dealers, but many small towns and rural counties only have one or two new truck/car dealerships. Ford (most), Chevy then Dodge. Trucks are the cornerstone of those sales, but to move cars they are forced to take, the rural dealerships will often sell economy cars under cost to move them and help win factory incentives that help the dealer survive. Smart city car buyers often go out to the rural dealer to get a better car deal and pay less sales tax. They can still get their warranty work done at CarCity Ford. Getting out of the economy and police sized sedan business will change things... However as more and more first tier companies are dropping sedans.... Then Ford has the biggest truck dealership network still.

@@STho205 Most of those dealerships use aftermarket parts for repairs too. They buy many parts from local parts suppliers (NAPA, PepBoys etc), vehicle manufacturers don't make common parts like calipers, starters, solenoids etc. The companies that make the dealer's parts also make the same OEM for the aftermarket, which dealerships often use because of cost and availability.

Hello, fellow Grand Marquis afficianado! Best. Car. Ever. My first was a 1989 LS that my wife and I, newly married 23 year olds, drove 3000 miles from Ohio to Montana for our honeymoon. Nobody else my age was driving one, and my siblings were merciless with their barbs. I didn't care. It was like riding a couch all the way across the United States. I've had two others since then, and I'll get another when the current one dies. SUV's and FWD drivetrains are for everyone else. For those of us with taste and an appropriate regard for naturally aspirated V8's, there are Grand Marquis. Keep on keeping on!

Reliability, I bought a Ford, and I've had to replace six parts. 2 struts that hold up the rear trunk. A hydraulic motor mount. A transmission mount. And a motor mount underneath. And a new car battery 650 amps. I also silicon glued the corner of the seal on the top of the driver's door. I also recharged the AC. Replaced the brake fluid, and the power steering fluid, and the coolant. And also, the four tires. So that's, 10 items replaced. It drives better now. Have you driven a Ford lately.
