Explains how the integrating and differentiating RC circuit works with real examples. Such RC circuits occupy a special place in electrical circuits. Often they form parasitic connections, then all kinds of them are trying to get rid of or minimize their impact. However, in most cases they have a very useful practical application.
The differentiating RC circuit is used to filter the high frequency signals, that is, it passes the high frequency signals and cuts off the low frequency signals. Therefore, the differentiating RC circuit is also called the high pass filter of the high pass filter. A capacitor is installed at the highpass filter input, and the output signal is taken from the resistor.
The integrating RC circuit works the other way round - it transmits mainly low frequency signals and reduces the level of high frequency signals. Therefore, an integrating RC circuit belongs to the low pass filter of the low-pass filter.
In complex electrical circuits, alternating and direct currents flow simultaneously. For normal operation of a certain electronic node, it is necessary that through it flowed either a purely constant current or a purely alternating current. An integrating RC circuit is used to separate DC from AC, and a differentiating RC circuit is used to isolate only alternating current.
