I would say that a very big red flag is sellers posting stock photos from the manufacturer instead of photos of the actual product their are selling. I have fell for that before where the seller ends up selling a product that is too damaged. The other red flag would be sellers announcing a price that is too small for the value of the product (like that $1 guy), then acting offended when someone offers them what they are asking and keep trying to up the price on you when you make an offer. I usually filter those low values because they are either faulty/damaged products, scams that target your wallet or your data, or delusional sellers. Thank you for the video Jay and team.

I won't waste my time with listings that have $1 as the price. May as well not have posted any info or pics. If a person wants to sell something they should make it easy for ppl to make the decision wether they want it or not without any delayed back and forth making everything drawn out and more work than need be. No actual pics is a red flag too, and prices that are too good to be true are red flags too.

my tip for shopping the used market is to know what you want. if you have time to browse then you have time to do your homework. compare prices online for the lowest and if you find that they're about the same, haggle. depending on what it is, you could (hypothetically) save either $10-50 or 10-50%. for example, i just picked up 2 monitors the other day, asking price was $150. did my homework and they accepted $100. now i got a triple monitor setup that matches perfectly in aesthetics

@@dane4890 There was a while the Corsair 750W shot up to $125. That was shooting yourself in the foot on a $500 or L500 build. I got a Corsair 4000D with the guts from my old rig, a 9900KF, 360AIO a 5700xt and 1tb M.2 Inland ssd. Had a PSU and it poo'd the bed, so I had to rob one from another rig, simply because a new replacement had shot up that much. I really find it hard to ask the money I want to ask for the rig now.... So she still sits here. I made a bad choice in cases. The Corsair 4000D is useless for mounting a 360AIO in the front, absolutely no airflow, even double stacking the radiator fans.

Something to consider when getting Intel 12th, 13th or 14th Gen.. Jay goes into it often but if they have a high end motherboard, it is quite likely there is CPU degradation from high OCs from folks that know how to or worse high voltage from folks that don't do any optimizations.. just points to ponder. I read folks on the forums complaining about their CPUs degrading often.

I know this video is geared more toward people looking to offload their used PC's but there are also many PC flippers and Local builders like myself on these platforms that build PC's for profit. Some folks don't market themselves as such but their prices may appear a bit higher because your paying for their expertise in sourcing the parts, building and testing the machine to make sure it's stable. It's not a bad way to make some side cash as long as your not trying to pull a fast one. I also wanted to comment on the "New Build Comments". I think its fair to call a build new as depending on the parts that are used because GPU's and CPU's have longevity in them and if the rest of the parts used in the system are new it is essentially a new system especially if it's been tested for stability and thermals. The build is technically new because the builder sourced the parts and Built the system and tested it. In my listings I mark which parts are new and used if any so there is no confusion. If it's a build I just cleaned up and tested then yes that would be marked as used.

I bought a $300 1080Ti that turned into a 2080 after an RMA in 2020. I got the most lucky deal on a 1080Ti then because it was before the market skyrocketed and they also didn't have 1080Ti to replace mine with so I got upgraded to a 2080 and I have had it since, the warranty is definitely gone but shit, it had a warranty that transferred owners and even though the damage was my fault ASUS ROG replaced my card that only had the RGB controller blown on it for not wanting a potential fire. Props to the company for taking this action even years ago and that's why I will always buy ASUS ROG parts until I have a bad experience enough to deter me.

Back when I had my ASUS 1660 Super (about 3 years ago), I was getting medium to high settings on games in 1440P. I think I was playing Death Stranding a lot at that time and I did get those settings with a steady 60fps even though everywhere you looked people were claiming it as a 1080P card. It would probably not get that now with some of the newer titles coming out, but to flat out say it can’t do it is false. I don’t think the guy in that posting was trying to be misleading at all. You even said at the beginning of your video that it all depends on what you are trying to play.
