What are your thoughts about turning your fist when throwing a punch? I've read about Jack Dempsey's power line where the fist doesn't turn and you get a straighter line with your punch reaulting in more power, but even he would turn his fist for many of his punches so I wanted to know what your thoughts about it were

The last technique doesnt really work. If someone trains at martial arts the first thing is to keep distance and dont stick near him . The other 2 , really works

Take it a step further- say “I don’t want to fight mate”. Then become friends. Spend time socially together the next few months, building a bond. Then just when he’s not expecting it, Wham!

The next person that tries to fight you might recognize that stance and call your bluff. Dan Lok has covered that in one of his self defense videos. You considers it a ready to go, ready to explode type of stance when you have one foot forward and one foot back. Might have to a little bit more to convince them.

Why? I think he makes a good point, first off there's a CHANCE that it deescelates and prevents a fight, and saying that also has the chance of distracting him for a split second by making him have an emotional reaction to you. He might look down on you, laugh, look at his friends like "look at this idiot" and right at that moment you hit him. Either way, be prepared for him to swing, but maybe it won’t hurt to add in an extra word just in case you can de escalate?

It signals that you're stepping back with agility trying to get away, which is actually what you're doing even if you're trying to punch (because you need to step back with agility to then come back forward with power), putting the hands up can signal fear, or that you're just retreating or blocking or pushing away IF he comes forward as you're backing up. Of course you would be right in some circumstances too, but anything that CAN be interpreted in multiple ways has a CHANCE of distracting, deceiving, or confusing your opponent, and is therefore useful.

Fun fact: In the first tip, he mentions to hit the opponent in the chest area. This is called the solar plexus: a gathering of nerves that when struck, cause immense pain.

It's usually not that painful, you only can barely breathe, but also it can cause "Commotio cordis" which is rare but possible which stops the heart.

Okay so No.1 If a man wants to fight you and is going to fight you, HE WILL he doesn't care if you don't want to fight! In his head that makes his job easier. No.2 If someone approaches you and is ready for conflict, you should have already identified that and already be in your fighting stance, because throwing a punch while stepping back will render you off balance and leave you open for a leg sweep. No.3 Ain't no way a open hand slap as zesty as you did it will Finnish "anyone". Let alone a slap that's not as punie as your slap. No.4 Headbutting is never the answer you can easily miscalculate it and hurt yourself and or even knock yourself out. Side note headbutts are illegal in boxing, so I wouldn't call the boxing tips maybe, how to not fight is a better way to say it.

Actually I'd probably execute a tactical retreat then turn and throw a heavy kick when they're primed to run into a barbed wire fence or a table then either capitalize if I'm confident in taking them at that point or use it to keep running.

@@datdankdj8264not really as effective at that close of a distance if it isn't already drawn. So if you're cornered, best bet is to hit a guy, then get a good enough distance you can draw the gun without anyone being able to stop you.
