Can you give us some bagpiping tips?

Please give an accurate description of everything Connor was doing wrong. We need to know!

Ok I gotta go and actually watch it then Aight I’m back, there is so much 😂 First, he put the pipe reed into the practice chanter, those actually have different reeds because the main pipe reed is way too strong. Second, he held it so wrong 😂😂 like I can’t even describe how bad that was. Homeboy didn’t balance the drone reeds, so they wouldn’t play at the same time as the chanter reed. Sounds like one or two of his drone reeds is out, so the bag doesn’t hold enough air to get a high enough pressure to start the chanter reed? He also got the bass drone (the long one) on the wrong base (he fixes that eventually) but I think he still has the bass reed in one of the tenor drones. You have to do something called “striking in” to get the drone sounding right, if you just bring up pressure slowly the drones often won’t “cut” into the right key. And then you gotta add pressure to start the chanter reed. I think that’s all? Also it’s a garbage set of pipes, so they probably just flat out hardly work anyway. I have wasted too much time on this.

When I was in primary school I briefly considered learning the bagpipes after a Scottish band visited our school and was like “come learn our instruments” and I love bagpipes. I am thankful now that I didn’t because I wouldn’t have had the patience. I have bigger respect to my uncle who plays now.
