Im sad you lost your job, but often the best things are born out of dire circumstance because it breeds ingenuity. Jacob/Photographer recently unemployed/Magic man with a double of himself, you should look at off grid cabins just to see what you could do and to take notes.

Pallets are a GREAT source of free wood AND you can usually find them for nothing if you spread the word around companies that use them regularly.

Well done, mate! Love your videos. People say that everything happens for a reason. Well, you found yours pretty quickly. My suggestion to you is to make a marketing plan: consider the short, middle and long-term goals for your business, also interview people that run similar businesses (either in tiny house building or in small cottage hotels) for suggestions, and interview people that you think might be potential clients (maybe people in the area you live in) to see if they would stay at the place you plan to build. Also, some accounting knowledge might be helpful. Best of luck! Glad to see you excited about this new project.

It ended up being a really nice house the only thing is if you actually plan on making these like a Airbnb you'll have to have an outhouse area or make a plan to install a shower and a toilet. This actually makes me think of the tiny homes that people build on the Sims 4.

Great idea and great timing. Tip: Get some firepits/log burners. We run a campsite in the Chilterns and campfires are one of the biggest draws. Also, when things return to normal, go to the Rural Innovation Show and the Glamping Show for loads of ideas.

Jacob, you have done a remarkable job in building your tiny abode. If you are going to build more for eco-holidayers though; what will you do for toileting and showers etc? Not doing a downer, it's an important aspect of what you will be doing. Drop-dunnies will work (deep hole with a dunny [toilet] atop it). Communal showers? Pardon the slang, I'm an Aussie!!

Don't know if you ever answered this question. What is the square footage of the cabin? Have you ever thought about selling the building plan? Something simple to follow, measurements & all the electrical, solar etc. Thank you for your answer, I love the results of your efforts!

You should also consider what else you can offer around / in conjunction with the homes. Like could you fix up some cheap second hand bikes and rent them out to guests? Lots of holiday businesses seem to make their money on the extras.

I have been UNEMPLOYED since October 2019. Had I gotten the same luck! As you did! I'd be doing that same thing as you! I'm a novice carpenter and don't have many tools just manuel & electric hand saw various sizes of pieces of wood including some pvc pipes and nothing more. Plus I live in the states and you live in London. I've always wanted to build and live in my very own "tiny home" but was never motivated and always DISCOURAGED. I still have that "Dream" but it's only that and will stay that way for how long? I do not know. So good luck on your future endeavors and I will continue to watch your videos!.

Jacob congrats on the tiny office build / transformer house. I think you're right in doing what your doing especially living in such a amazing place as the Cotswolds!!! Your obviously talented enough to be able to build the Tiny homestead so why the hell not its a nobrainer when you have firstly a wonderful surrounding. Secondly an amount of land that belongs to you or your family. Thirdly the desire and drive to build different styles and sizes of Tiny homes !. If I can offer you any advice it would be a couple of things. Do your best to provide Internet access even if this mean buying a stand alone ariel and setup as people often say they aren't bothered about Internet access for a couple of days but suddenly they will need it for one thing or another. Secondly if I was doing the same as you I would want to install a small woodburner especially when the weather turns cold suddenly in the evening time, they make tiny logburners for things like boats even tents . You can find a full setup on ebay for around £150 burner and pipes etc you can't go wrong. The last thing is of course makesure you get insurance not only for the building but the stranger's that stay with you too. Just incase of any mishaps etc. My last comment is having found this video on UKposts and watching through it I've now subscribed and the reason is simply because the enthusiasm you showed is commendable as so many people lose their job and just sit on their arse's doing sodall and give up. You didn't so with that inmind I wish you all the success going forward with your Tiny homestead business! P.s don't have the tiny houses too close to each other as the last thing someone wants is to hear something coming from another tiny home ...snoring for example 😴 🙄.
