Insulating and Laying Subfloor | School Bus Conversion Ep.12

The flooring is officially finished! After ripping out the wheelchair tracks, removing the rust and converting it, painting, sealing and framing the floor our backs hurt! We are so excited to have completed this milestone project :) In the next part we will be taking on an unexpected project and installing all the wall and roof furring strips.

Having remodeled many houses, I would have recommended putting the foil side down as a vapor barrier. Also, look at your video when you were screwing the plywood down, notice how the board slightly rises as the screw goes in? Getting ready for squeaks. You really needed to drill the plywood first or back the screws out of the bottom boards then re-screwed them so they would pull down better. Overall, great job though.

Install another working wheelchair lift for easy transport of goods to the bus and you should make “GET OUT THE WAY, GET OUT THE WAY BITCH GET OUT THE WAY” play when the loading lights are on 😂

Great to see without any prior training or experience that you two weren't afraid to just get in there and get it with this project. Plus you learn stuff along the way. What works good/not so good. I am not a professional at anything myself, just a jack of all trades/master of none and thats how I learned how to do stuff.

When I saw you using the aluminum tape I legit said "I don't think that's necessary," like, a millisecond before you mentioned it. 😅 It was a little surreal, ha. Your bus is looking really great so far. Nice job insulating the subfloor. I skipped insulating mine for height's sake (I'm 6'1") but I really feel it in cold weather. 🥶
