My first thought as well. This will take a lot of business away from Sims 5 because a lot of people enjoyed the realistic feel of Sims 3. After Paralives was announced they finally realized the industry would go on without them. I assume that they will lean more into the cartoon style and try to compete with Paralives but I think regardless of where they go with it I don't think they'll be ambitious or creative enough. Now there are games both hyper realistic and cartoony for people to choose from and there's not much of brand loyalty for lots of Sims players. They really dropped the ball with Sims 4. I think it will be really difficult for them because they can try to keep the Sims charm and lore (doubtful, Sims 4 has the bare minimum) meanwhile these new games have a fresh slate with no scorned legacy players with high expectations

Right, I don’t like the cartoony style of Sims 4, and I think it’s because of how Sims 3 was. It feels like the Sims 4 backtracked when it needed to move forward. I can admit some things the Sims 4 did well was cas, teenagers having more freedom, build/buy, and removing some limitations. However, gameplay-wise? The Sims are very dumb. I noticed it after my Sims 4 started acting up again, and I switched to 3 cause I’m sick of it, and the Sims act so much smarter. They do things on their own, and it’s not like Sims 4, where they can’t sit still for longer than 2 seconds. They do things depending on what’s in their vicinity and their traits. I can also focus on other sims and I don’t gotta worry about the sims necessarily burning the house down cause they’re randomly cooking even when they’re not hungry. Honestly the sims 4 dropped the ball hard although they did improve on some things. I kinda hope another company would buy out the sims franchise and possibly upgrade the graphics of the older games for people who still want to play, and do a huge overhaul for the sims 4 where they fix every bug; and make the sims smarter.

I have always thought that combining those 2 games would make the perfect gaming experience. This is the closest I have seen to that becoming a reality and I am excited to see where things go.

@@jerehirvonen7075 I believe this is strongly due to the UE5 capabilities and how easy is to construct an entire city with thousand of moving objects.

My guess is that Krafton devs are very dedicated and are taking this project very seriously. Unlike western devs who probably slacks a lot or work very ineffefficient. Overall the eastern games are usually in general much better quality than western games. And this game is no exception. It is really good that we finally will get a Sims-like game that is based on realistic art style. Unreal Engine 5 is really good for realistic open world games.

One thing that I believe has made the Sims 4 worse is the obsession with realism and everything authentic it's a game. Anything is possible I just want to live in a nice place.

@@AlisonMendez-bx8tp it looks very heavy graphically, but it's not that extreme as one can think it is. Since Unreal Engine 5 has this Nanites functionality, that makes the graphical assets much more efficient. However, a PC that struggles to run Sims 4 is out of the question, but most high-end gaming PCs will be able to run it, also mid-tier gaming PCs as well but with lower graphical settings.

Yes I'm soooo happy that there's so competition for EA maybe then and only then will they actually start listening to simmers and stop being so money hungry

Realistically speaking, I don’t think this level of graphics would have been viable for the sims 4 or at least not for the average consumer. Sims 4 came out nearly a decade ago in 2014. I do however expect EA to take a more realistic approach to sims 5 and I’ll be disappointed if they don’t. EA has competition for sure!

​@@ElenaSofia98Graphics wise this is too much to ask in 2014 but they could have 100% been able to have delievered waaaay upgraded realistic-ish graphics and a functional open world Sims 3's biggest flaw was its ambition, it wanted a open world and the technology of its time gave us a laggy mess But in 2014, they could've definetly made a great open world...which they didn't.

Great idea but I prefer a game that comes out already finished, and the updates are just necessary bug fixes or expansion packs like the sims.

This is what The Sims 4 did and does to this day and no one liked the idea of ​​having an unfinished product.

The Sims will still maintain, there are plenty who don’t like super realism like this. I don’t personally. It’s a cool option for people who will enjoy it but I prefer The Sims and even though I might check out Life By You or Paralives, I doubt I’ll move over

Judging from the thumbnails and that tiny bit of moment where she clicked through other characters, it seems that they have other races. Why she picked asian instead of showcasing other races is beyond me lol

As the game develops, they’ll be able to bring more life into the characters themselves. A lot of seems quite surface level at this stage, but with it being so early in development, it’s understandable. ☺️

I played the game on 2 setups and both ran the game well. Granted, they are both on the “higher end” in terms of spec.

@@hmsmith1790 I can certainly ask! Just to clarify, are you asking if there is a way for your character to get pregnant in other ways such as surrogacy, or like the "science baby" feature in The Sims 4?

It’s apples and oranges. The Sims doesn’t go for realism on the graphic side of things. Sure they’re both life sims but it’s a bit too realistic to me. It’s almost like you can think this is good without bashing The Sims
