It’s astonishing, knowing the stats on relative prosecution and sentencing for crime, that this is a question anybody would genuinely ask.

Because some people, even people of color are denying it. Some people just don’t want to acknowledge it or see it. One anecdotal example doesn’t make it untrue. Maybe this young man should travel around the country and talk to other people.

If you want to claim that racism is no longer a big issue, you are also committed to the claim that black people somehow _deserve_ longer sentences, less probation and higher prosecution rates for the same crimes than white people. You are committed to the claim that the educational achievement gap is due to something other than racism. No doubt some viewers of this channel still think the pseudoscience behind The Bell Curve is convincing- if so, I'd urge those who are still corrigible to search for "bell curve debunked". It's less than 160 years since Juneteenth, 60 or so years since the end of peonage (as far as we can tell). That isn't enough time.
